Paramount breathed a sigh of relief, not that there was any doubt, that Michael Bay officially signed on to Transformers 3 today. And, after conferring with Steven Spielberg, he set an early release date of July 1st, 2011 — not 2012. He also took a potshot at Megan Fox whom he’s welcoming back for T3. Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

T1 and T2 were great films, especially from a comic book genre. Envy always follows success — if you don’t like the films…It’s simple… stop watching them.
It’s not surprising that Michael Bay and Paramount announced Transformers 3 Official Release Date since Transformers 2 is by far the highest grossing movie of 2009. What does make it interesting or a surprise is that Director Michael Bay Originally said this ( from http://www.michael-bay.com ) “Wait a minute! I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 – they asked me on the phone – I said yes to July 4 – but for 2012 – whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.”
Ok, well I’ve seen both TF1 and 2, so I’ll start by saying that I did enjoy TF1. TF2 on the other hand…about the most enjoyable part was when I thought the racist twins were going to get destroyed by Devastator. They are, by far, the worst things that could have been put in the movie and I can’t conceive how any producer wouldn’t have serious qualms about allowing the inclusion of bug-eyed, ghetto talking robots with gold buck teeth, not to mention the fact that they act like they’re afflicted with serious mental retardation and can’t even read. Elite Autobot Forces they most definitely are not. They could have easily given their screen time to Arcee or Sideswipe and it would have dramatically altered my perception of the movie as a whole. I certainly hope that MB drops those POS bots in the junkyard to rot, not to even be mentioned in TF3.
Beyond that, there were things that seemed a bit useless with Sam’s loser roommate and Shia’s horrible acting when he freaked out in class. His mom getting messed up on brownies I can live with, though she did go a bit further than needed. I can accept the corny ‘near-death’ vision of the Primes talking to Sam, but I think it could’ve been delivered differently. I wouldn’t call the movie bad just on these things alone, but combine these few examples with the racist twins and it really just makes me hate too many parts of the movie to say that it’s ‘good’.
Yea, Megan is hot and all…but she’s a shallow ditz and everyone knows it by now. I’ll check her out if she’s there, but I won’t miss her much if she’s not. I’m sure Micheal’s comments in the PS are him just being sarcastic since so much press is being given to her bashing of him, (considering he made her famous that’s not a great move imho) and the return bashing by crew members. I wouldn’t cry about saying he’s lucky to have her considering the only thing she brings to the table is her playboy looks and there’s millions of women that are just as hot out there.
well well if the movie comes out at 2011 perhaps a new hot star would rise at that time to replace megan.. today i do agree that megan is super hot still
IT’s funny how many people hate the movie, and how they ridicule the intelligence of people who enjoyed the movie. Both TF1 and TF2 were enjoyable I loved every minute.
What were you dumb asses expecting? An Oscar candidate? These are meant to be dumb loud action movies nothing more. Were they enjoyable absolutely, I actually feel bad for all the nimrod tight asses who can’t even sit back and enjoy a little popcorn entertainment anymore without making fun of everyone involved.
Is Michael Bay an excellent director nope, but who freaking cares. The action was enjoyable and the sequences with transforming were utterly fantastic. Thats all I came to see, and I will probably again enjoy the 3rd.

im gonna agree with jonnyw. i enjoyed the first 2 films and got exactly what i wanted.transforming robots beating the hell out of each other and some light hearted humor and a tolerable plot. bring on t3 woohoo!
Are you people serious? It is a freaking kids movie about robots that transform. Were not talking about a film adaptation of Plato’s Republic.
Look, the movie lacked a few things namely that Jetfire was a rusty old robot. (OK gripe for making my favorite transformer a grumpy old man out of the way.)
It pulled in elements from the original transformer movie and that at least showed that had done some homework, even Arcee was in the movie.
That said, WTF do ya’ll want? I personally think ya’ll are just btchn’ because they did not follow the same plot line as the cartoon where the Decepticons and Autobots fight and crash onto earth in the Arc spacecraft.
Just be glad it was not like GI Joe, you know the move about the “Rise of Cobra” that never actually had Cobra do anything except get captured.

T1 and T2 were both wicked entertainment movies, fast paced action packed comic storylines for the big screen – the movies were aimed at both old school fans and newbies, I believe thats a tough task and Bay carried it off extremely well.
If you dont like the movie thats fine but you cant say they were poor quality because you disagree with some of the movies content. Stop sucking your own ass and smell the coffee, movies aren’t just made for you!

I think both t1 and t2 were both wack due to the fact I am a die hard fan of transformers.And neither movie made any since with the plots and story lines they have.First meagtron is a gun not a freaking plane.Devastator transforms to 6 robots.I have no idea what that was in the movie.The need to take a real look at the originalm cartoons generation1 and generation 2 and due they research.
To all of you people that need to find something in life to complain about.
Think of all of the movies that you feel are a waste of time and realize that you complain about a media that creates things.
Like jobs for people and cash flow not only for the people involved in the making of the films but for the towns they are shot in.
They also are not above paying there taxes one thing that to many people don’t do.
If you were to take half of the energy you expel into your disliking of entertaining things you two could be a successful person that people can hate.

Transformer 1 and 2 were both good movies. Cant wait for the 3rd one. What more can you ask for in an action movie. I grew up watching the old 80′s cartoons and was excited to hear they were making a movie about transformers!!! Wow all you complainers need to get laid or just f_ck off. whats wrong with all you people….are you all retarded… i grew up on the transformers cartoons..and the movies t1 and t2 have done the transformer stories juctice..they where fantastic, brill , WOW !!!!!!!!THE 3RD installment will be as good if not better than the other 2….good luck to michael bay and may he do many more transformer movies…..as long as they keep getting fab story lines they can just keep going and if they need any story lines email me….

I have seen both movies and for me, they were great. Now, I’m not saying that they were the greatest films of all time, but the action was good, the acting believable, and who doesn’t love giant robots? So maybe the second movie wasn’t quiet as good as the first? They rarely are. But hey, if what they are saying about the third movie, more characters (Yay Bumblebee!) and less “blow everything to bits” then I say we at least give it a chance.
Unless megan fox strips and gets buck naked in T3, they should just kill her off right at the start of the movie. They need to make sure this time tha tthe story makes sense… none of the huge plot holes like T2 had. And I mean GLARING holes like how they had 2 cube shards in the second movie, but for some reason theone they had didnt do what they needed so they went after the one labeuf had. It’s rediculous. T1 i loved T2 i hated, t3?
Cool…I can just pray that this series of transformers wont turn out to be a disappointment just like T3.
