enough of this guy!
Listen, anyonymous, you’ve been posting a lot lately and, really, enough of you. Ricky and Stephen rule – this spot was spot on. Yes, the guy has a schtick but he’s got range in his game. Ricky…i’d hire you on my next film in a heartbeat. in fact, I may just do that.
Ricky Gervais is wonderfully funny. HOWEVER, Stephen Merchant provides a vehicle to make Ricky funnier. I absolutely love the two together; one being a kid on too much caffeine that squirms and acts up and then Stephen sitting there sweetly bringing Ricky back down to earth. They just work so well off of each other. Brilliant.
Let Stephen work with Ricky on the Golden Globes together. And Ashley Jensen; don’t forget Ashley!
Keep making us laugh…………please don’t ever stop.
As in the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert/Jonathan Ross/Graham Norton, etc., style of joking, please don’t ever go away.
Oh, and Kathy Griffin…………..keep pissing off all of those bizarre people that seem to populate L.A.
As Carrie Fisher was quoted: she’s a product of in-breeding: two Hollywood stars who marry and produce children.
Go Kathy and Carrie!
more of this guy!
These guys are always hilarious
They’re actually showing that in public? It didn’t send me over the edge in rage or anything like that, but… WTF? Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the cause – or the disabled, for that matter.
Fantastic! Humor is healing!
Enough of this guy, no, more of this guy, wait, these guys are hilarious!
Not his best but still funny.
I love his comment when he visited the USA for the first time about how he loved it here because in America he’s not considered fat.
Can’t get enough of Gervais/Merchant. I hope they ditch the attempts to be Hollywood feel-goody and just be themselves with this dynamic. They’ll never cross over to a big audience here, but that’s the point; they have their own style and there’s millions of us who love it. Don’t need a big box-office hit to prove anything.
Is Stephen Merchant the real talent here? God that guy’s funny. And he makes Gervais way funnier (and more likable).
Love, Ricky & Stephen! Ricky, don’t do anything without him, you are funnier together!
He makes me so happy I could watch him all day.
Good British comedy: Ricky Gervais
Bad British Comedy: Russell Brand
This video got lots of laughs from the crowd today. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are great!
These guys are hilarious! Love them! But I totally don’t get what they were doing – were they trying to get filmmakers/producers to portray disabilities in movies/TV or was it a parody of that sort of PSA?
‘The rain man ones’ haha!
Disability.. Well done!
“I’ve never used the ones that were really too clever, the Rain Man ones.”
Awesome
Went to this event yesterday and it was just incredible. Sadly the DGA was a no show as was the LA Times. Thanks for staying up on it Nikki. You are a real champ.
I love these two
ricky’s so adorable. I can’t believe people actually think this is real! It’s obvious by now this is how they do their little interview things Lol. It’s hilarious, they do Britain proud (:
Please go away…you are not funny
I don’t think Nikki posted this for a critique of the Gervais/Merchant comedic skills, it was instead intended to raise awareness of a powerful movement in Hollywood: I AM PWD campaign. The disabled community has been partnering with the major talent unions to publicize the fact that actors with disability are profoundly under-represented in Film/TV. This movement culminated in a powerful and impressive forum this weekend with notables such as Peter Farrelly, David Milch and “Chill” Mitchell. Gervais is one of the few in the business that is unafraid to portray disabilities as a part of the human existence for both comedy and truth.
just one of the benefits that disabled actors have over their able-bodied counterparts is that they’re cheaper.
