I'm getting word from Paris that Vivendi may delay the sale of its 20% NBC Universal stake to concentrate on the company's attempted purchase of Brazil's GVT phone operator. Nothing official yet from yesterday's Vivendi board of directors meeting, but the stock dropped 1.8% in Paris trading. This would put a big wrinkle in any Comcast/GE deal attempt since it hinged on the Vivendi sale right away. Then again, as I've said all along, Vivendi was interested in selling NBCU in order to focus more on telecom than entertainment. Let me keep reporting.

Wait a minute, I read on another website this deal was done back in September?
Gee, sounds like Jeff Zucker was just put in charge of this deal cause nobody can fuck something up faster than the Zuck.
How this deal moves is all pending on what Vivendi decides. If Vivendi holds their cards, the suspense continues till next year at this time. If Vivendi folds, that’s another story. What ever deal(s) that NBCU has lined up will unfold.
With Vivendi stock sliding and the valuation for NBCU not being as high as Vivendi needs, don’t expect Vivendi to sell which is probably good for NBCU. Now NBCU can be in a better situation next year when this fiasco unfolds again or they can approach Vivendi with a deal they are comfortable with before hand.
They should turn this into a reality show and show it 5 nights a week at 10PM. Jaywalking to nowhere
