I've obtained The Weinstein Company's release schedule of its movie slate. Why such a fuss about Rob Marshall's Nine moving off Thanksgiving which was also The Road date? Everyone knew TWC's two films wouldn't stay put there:
2009
The Road (November 25, wide)
Nine (December 18, limited; December 25, expansion, January 8, further expansion )
Single Man (December 11, limited; December 25, expansion)
2010
Youth in Revolt (January 8, wide)
Hoodwinked (January 15)
All Good Things (March)
Shanghai (April)
Piranha 3D April 16
Carl Icahn Now Wants ALL Of Lionsgate
Are these the actual release dates, or just the dates for the next time they’ll announce that the release has been pushed back?
I’ll watch Daniel Day Lewis, always, no matter what.
But… I especially can’t wait for Piranha 3D. I wonder if it’ll be as good as the version Roger Corman made in the mid-nineties?
It’s just so f**king original.
YOUTH IN REVOLT is going to be their biggest hit of all the films listed. I’ve seen it and it’s amazing!
I am sure Hoodwinked will do fantastic when middle America realizes that the man in charge of the company behind it thinks it is OK to rape a 13 year old girl.
No surprise since he’s been raping filmmakers and their movies for years.
No Janky Promoters or Hurricane Season… Bob Weinstein wasn’t kidding when he said he’s getting out of the African-American film business.
Not to be too detail-oriented, but the correct title is “Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs Evil.”
If the company is flush with cash then this release schedule seems probable. However, if they are tight with capital markets not willing to extend credit, it appears to realease two films in the same month will cause push backs.
I’m really excited that All Good Things will be getting a early 2010 release.
Now that he has come out of support of Roman Polanski, I will no longer be seeing any movies by Harvey Weinstein.
Totally agree!!!
I hope that ALL GOOD THINGS is really going to be released. It is a crime what the Weinstein’s has done to this movie… Hope Ryan Gosling will never ever make a movie for them again….
Janky Promoters was just released today. I find that extremely odd that TWC, who has barely any distribution for the film, is releasing it so soon. I guess it must have to do with them wanting to get rid of the film.
