UPDATES Agent John Ferriter Declares War On WME
UPDATES John Ferriter & WME Feuding; “This Is Going To Get Ugly”
UPDATES John Ferriter “Hates” Coming Into WME
EXCLUSIVE: So who’s right? The last I heard from WME insiders, they told Reality TV major player John Ferriter to report for work. Now I’ve just received this statement from the agent’s reps: “For the past several weeks WME2 so constrained John Ferriter from performing his duties as a talent agent, that Ferriter’s attorney sent a letter today to WME’s legal counsel confirming Ferriter’s employment status as a termination. Despite verbal offers to return to his office, Ferriter was barred from WME2 premises; warned not to communicate with employees and about his email access; barred from company events; and agents were instructed to call his clients stating publicly that he had resigned and new agents would represent them — while being expected to fulfill his contract. Ferriter contends the termination was unlawful and retaliatory for raising concerns to upper executives. Ferriter will continue to provide advice and support to his clients and will now pursue opportunities for employment and/or entrepreneurship to minimize his damages. While this saga is far from over, Ferriter’s association with WME2 clearly is.”

This whole thing is such a waste of everyone’s energy. While john sits and obsesses on promisses not kept, and WME does damage control, life goes on for their clients. Eventually we’ll get so fed up we’re going to move on. Personally, if John is so willing to expose the skeletons of the one guy to whom he owes his career he isn’t worth his weight in commissions let alone the cyberspace of these pointless posts!
run John..RUN
John is hands down the best non-scripted agent in town. If he does exit, this is WME’s massive loss.
Wow, don’t worry you know who your friends are. They will back you 100 percent. And since you are a 100 per-center we know how this will turn out. 1,000,000 in your pocket.
As for W. M. E. the third version, how is this going to look to your clients.
1. Charlie sheen?
Highest paid TV scripted actor.
2. Rachel, Kate etc and their crew?
3. And then those list of agents like Bernstein who left etc.
Ditto and the rest of that sh**.
4. Finally, the biggest exit Ryan Seacrest. WTF 2 will be the new logo at this place by Jan’010
Based on te volume of comments, America is clearly captivated by this saga. What will Ferriter do next? More importantly, who cares?
Without Seacrest this Goon is nothing. Let the other agents take over.
There’s no denying Endeavor was a stand alone powerhouse. But in an effort to rule the world, they failed to see the forrest through the trees. They squeezed so tight that they not only ruined the oldest and most iconic agency in the business, they screwed themselves as well. Clearly the only winners are the other agencies who have realized gains due to Endeavor’s hubris. Clients gone/going and meaningful agents next.
You think the bleeding stops with Jon Rosen? Guess again. When all the hoopla is over and Endeavor loses its battle with Ferriter, everyone in his entire department will defect. Itkin, while not a bad guy, has chosen to stick his head in the sand. While there, he should remember the writings of Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing.” Mark will be left alone in a hell of his own making. Some might call that Karma.
Regardless, with Ferriter now freed up to take meetings, Nikke will have plenty of great fodder to write about in the coming weeks. Think about it – Any idea how much biz JF’s department is responsible for each year? Now translate that into commissions. Now think about all the other agencies who want and need REAL alternative departments. Seems to this commenter that Ferriter is going to have plethora of choices. Wherever he ends up, it’s going to be interesting to see how the power shifts.
Buckle up, people. This is going to get good…
The William Morris Agency ruined itself, when it agreed to merge, or to be taken over. What did everyone think would happen? William Morris must’ve been in a precarious position financially, and probably many layoffs would’ve come anyway. But it’s always the few people at the top who make all the decisions that many, many others must suffer under. It’s the same with all big companies.
Just how difficult is it for some of these ex-WMA’ers to start their own businesses? what is the advantage of working with a big agency, other than a steady paycheck?
I saw Ferriter on Monday wondering around the set of Dancing with the Stars. Rumor has it Kelly Osbourne is a client. Or perhaps WAS a client is a better phrase.
Ferriter handles Tom Bergeron..not Kelly O
I think ICM handles Tom as well as Conrad Green the Exec Producer. But who really cares. He doesn;t represent anyone right now. He is the phantom of the back lot as he trods around the trailers looking for the scraps.
Actually John has one of the best Alt. TV talent rosters around. Larry King, Mario Lopez, Mark Steines, and Nancy O’Dell are all clients. They all make multiple millions of dollars a year.
On Dancing he reps Kelly and Donny “I just made 8 figures on my Vegas show” Osmond.
I guess this is how John can pay for dinners and not hide when the check comes…cough Sean Perry & Lance Klein…cough.
