TJ Miller, an LA-based comedian (Cloverfield, Carpoolers) shot this video after two unsuccessful auditions for the Warner Bros’ Yogi Bear movie. Studio boss Alan Horn and producer Donald De Line saw this footage and offered him a major part in the film. He’s already in New Zealand shooting:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

I wonder if the writer got the assignment by having a bear eat the first draft of his script?
Hey, I worked on the Kevin James thing “The Zookeeper”.
Well, I was an extra so work may be a bit of a stretch.
But I ate well.
After crew, of course.
lame. proof positive that gall wins the day not talent. what a bore.
If this guy is a comic genius i am happy, cause that means I, too, am a comic genius and so is this monkey at the type writer next to me.
The bear was better.
I’m actually after the marsh mellow handle that had them both on their….
That guy can run a studio. I mean a STUDIO.
Glad LESHER found a job
There is no way for a Yogi Bear movie not to suck.
Now THAT is funny!
Well, at least it’s not something random, like… oh, I dunno. Justin Timberlake playing Boo Boo?
Oh wait a minute…
Tom Cavanagh is playing Ranger Smith. TJ Miller is playing another Ranger.
The guy held his own in a pen with a bear with claws. Give him credit for that. Sure, there was a trainer there, but that still took some balls.
I’m not a friend of the guy, have never even seen him before this so take the compliment for what it’s worth.
Can’t wait to read all the YouTube Animal Lover comments who’ll turn this vid into a, “He shouldn’t have let that bear eat paper!” event.
And one can only hope that some other idiot sees this and tries the same tactic while auditioning for SNAKES ON A PLANE 2 – COBRAS UNLEASHED.
I love that this stuff still happens in Hollywood…there’s a little bit of that magic left, where if you take a risk, you get rewarded.
wow, what an annoying prick. that this passes for imaginative is a sad commentary.
cute stunt, but should’ve been much funnier.
What am I missing? What was funny about that? For all the effort, that’s it?
Wow, that was horrible. Is it possible to go from having zero to negative interest in seeing a film? Can I somehow subtract from the ticket revenue by sufficiently having negative interest?
“Has Yogi Bear been done yet? Let’s do Yogi Bear! Who cares if it’s crappy; there are still tons of crappy customers to mine out there.”
TJ is a genius. Hes super funny!
