UPDATE: The layoff numbers are 3 producers, 3 segment producers, 3 APs, 3 PAs, a supervisiing producer, 1 development person and a script consultant. That’s the True Hollywood Story casualty. Also 8 people from stunts (the Countdown show types), 3 from new media, and several more I can’t confirm from E!’s production side. And now cuts in E!’s newsAlso, 8 people from stunts (the Countdown show-types), 4 from new media, and several more I can’t confirm from E!’s production side. Also layoffs underway this week as well for most of the E! News Now division.
Monday 2:20 PM: I’m told that 3 True Hollywood Story producing teams and one of their supervising producers were let go today. There’s chatter inside the hallways that it’s related to the Comcast/NBCU deal.

Fantastic! could we really be ready to clear the airwaves of trash like the karsdashians and lamas’s?
I believe the correct term is Lamai.
Also heard that the E News Now division is going to see severe cut backs this week.
If you were counting on THS as a career post maybe it’s time to go back to your hometown and produce local commercials for the cable affiliate.
Holy crap, that really blows! It’s an awful time out there to be looking for work. I feel for them.
I see this as a good thing for E. It’s never pleasant when someone loses their job but, maybe that job wasn’t needed in the first place.
I work on sitcoms that have over 20 people with the title of “producer” and some that have more than 15 writers. Table reads and production meetings are starting to look like a U2 concert. Rather than killing content and firing crew, this seems like a good place to trim some fatt. I’m sure the Jay Lameo Show has a bloated production staff. Just think if some of that salary could go to make the show watchable.
As soon as networks start looking at their own micro-managing staffs things will get better.
Sad. These folks will join the people I meet in the line at Starbucks on a weekday morning. “Yeah, I got laid off. I’m writing a spec script, keeping my ears open for work. Hope I don’t lose my house.”
Thank God, those E! True Hollywood story teams were fired. Has anybody watched the new ones they make lately? It’s ridiculous! “Best Porn Stars” “Famous Female Bodybuilders” “Baseball Wives” How are these related to HOLLYWOOD?
This is hardly the most important news, woman! Quickly now! What’s the status of the Almighty Seacrest? Hurry and report! Hurry and report!
Why can’t they keep the staff and fire the executives who green light all that E! crap?
I got laid off from E! at the beginning of this year, and cried more for losing the job than the paycheck. It was one of my favorite jobs here in Tinseltown. Thanks for the memories…:)
Is Annie Roberts okay? Nice gal.
