Comments On Deadline Hollywood are monitored. So don't go off topic, don't impersonate anyone, don't get your facts wrong, and don't bore me.
These ladies aren’t actually going to be seeing the movie, is that correct? They are just lining up 4 days early to get a good spot to scream at the stars as they walk past?
Seriously, spend that time sipping coffee at Urth Cafe or getting lunch at the Chateau Marmont to see all those movie stars and more.
get a fricking life– oh wait you dont have one
I have a running bet with a friend that New Moon will be a higher grossing picture than Avatar this Fall.
At this moment, I have to say, I feel pretty confident I’m going to be victorious.
I don’t see anyone lining up on the street like this to see Avatar.
…..I’m just saying.
*cough*
Who ever made the bet lost when they opened their mouth. Sequels always do better than new movies and New Moon is on that Harry-Potter-cult-following-type stuff.
Yikes! Get a job! Help the poor! Watch the movie when it comes out. You don’t have to camp out for several days.
what a bunch of dorks
Nutjobs. All of ‘em.
Ewwwwwww……..
just shoot me now.
omg and they’re like totally reading magazines with twighlight on the cover. is that nancy kirkpatrick on the left reading EW? lame!
As much as people ridicule these fans (beacuase Twilight IS ridiculous), it is freakish fan love of this intensity and hormonal power that will probably rescue the movie business.
some things are perplexing
Twi-tards
lame…EMPIRE STRIKES BACK? absolutely….NEW MOON? Hell no….
Wow… Twilight fans are not attractive. They’re like female Star Wars geeks.
Ah, to be unemployed and not dating anyone such that you can sit on a sidewalk for four days…
Did this even happen for Star Wars or Star Trek? HAHAHAHAHA
This should come under the heading of “Get a Life”
Sad bastards… Just livin’ the dream though, can’t knock ‘em for that!
And they say there are no intellectuals in LA.
this makes me want to cry for humanity.
I would agree with you but its almost a prerequisite for being American to go see this movie. As such, I’m helping the economy by paying someone to be a place holder for me and the 3 kids I’m bringing.
I figure it is like Star Wars was to those of us in the 40’s/50s age bracket and The Fellowship of the Ring to those in their 20s/30s as well as the Harry Potter films.
Each generation needs their one film that influences their entire perspective on life.
I agree with you that it makes me cry for humanity that this generation has vampires as its rallying theme but it is what it is.
like come on, i love twilight and all but thats a bit too much
I’m not sure whether to pity them or envy them.
The thought of having to suffer an hour of the film without Rob Pattinson is painful. I may have an extended toilet break when its just focusing on wooden Stewart and cheesy Lautner.
I hope the trailer for Remember Me is with New Moon. It would be ludicrious of Summit to overlook the pr opportunities at the NM screenings.
How sad that this generation of women are being conditioned to believe their only means of respect, fulfillment or survival is to be protected by a man. That they must give up everything to follow that man and be a part of his culture or their lives are meaningless. The idea prevalent throughout this content is that women are powerless to protect themselves, let alone be worthy without a man or his way of life.
Where’s Ellen Ripley when you need her?
scary.
who knew teenage girls could make star wars fans look like windowshoppers!
Two to one says a lot of these folks were also the people in line to see Paramore on Wednesday at the Palladium. (Whoever their manager is has a sharp eye for when and where to book tours…)
They did the same thing in Boston – the actor that plays “Emmett” in the movie made a personal appearance, and fans were lined up the night before (mostly screaming teenage girls, judging from the news footage). One of the Boston TV stations (WHDH) ran a contest, where the winner got to meet Kellan Lutz; they were inundated within minutes.
To each their own.
WOW..IM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT LEAVING SAT. TO GET THERE…
The female equivalent of the Trekkies that wait for days outside the newest Star Trek movie.
Let’s introduce them to each other & see what kind of truly freaky kids they might produce.
That is, if they can figure out how sex actually works!
Yeah, except that the last TREK was well-written, clever and chock-full of good performances.
This franchise, on the other hand…
So funny.
Well, at least it’s closer than these girls will ever come to getting laid.
Looks like a real intellectual set. Now I’m reminded why this town makes sh-t and little else.
i drove past these people this evening, and they are really already camping for Monday’s premiere! i rolled down my window to ask a security guy there what the people were camping out for, and when he said Monday’s Twilight premiere, i said: so they are trying to get tix? and he said — no, they just are in line to try to get a spot really close to the red carpet!
wow.
Ya, I passed by tonight. The line stretched all the way down Le Conte to Westwood and probably 3/4 down the on Westwood. Really sad
this is just sad…
That is scary. Don’t these fans read more about other stuff than constantly breathing in “Twilight” or anything cast-related?
Sad. Just sad…
Obviously the recession hasn’t affected everyone…
Really? Or is this a PR stunt from the studio? I honestly can’t imagine anyone in 2009 doing the old camping out on the street thing, regardless of how popular the movie. Does anyone know if a studio might actually pay people to do this?
“Really? Or is this a PR stunt from the studio?”
Bingo! Some of those, uh, girls are gonna be pissed off when they find out most of the other girls are getting paid to act like emo fanboys.
billfenner1967 – you would be surprised what people still camp out for! try going by the venue the night before a hanson concert sometime.
PR? Y’mean like when Apple paid people to line up outside its store to buy iPhiones (okay, so it was in Poland. Still…)
Im sure these people have been apprised of opportunities that Summit may be offering to anyone who camps out for a few days.
These people clearly have alot of idle time on their hands.
What else are they supposed to do?! It’s not like there are any jobs for teens and college students these days (not to mention most of Hollywood).
Why is this so “sad”? They’re teenagers, which is a demographic we really need to continue reaching if the film industry is going to survive. It’s great they’re so into this film that they’d camp out to be a part of the premiere.
This is a true commentary on how stupid America has become. Obviously, these silly little girls don’t think school means much to them. We’ll see them again at the end of next week taking our order at McDonald’s.
GET A LIFE LOSERS!
Good for them. They’re making money for this town. Sux to be you holier than thou idiots who make no money.
Where’s Triumph the Insult Comic Dog when you need him?
WOW some people are ridiculous we dont go because we need men to protect us, not all of us go for Rob some of us just like the excitement of doing something out of the ordinary…we like to take days off to do new and exciting things instead of our old boring routines…now 5 days is tooo much!!! a day or two b4 the premiere is ok…but 5 days…no way i have to agree no life…Lol
It’s a movie and they are having fun. What’s sad is the tsk-tsking by the intellectual lightweights here who can’t lower their nose long enough to see the everyone is in on the joke.
What’s the big deal for you guys? If these people want to camp out because they’re excited, who gives a shit? let them have their fun.
I don’t really see the connection between being a fan of a film series and the decline of American civilization. U.S.A. has been on the downward slide for decades… Entertainment is just the violin while the Titanic is sinking…
I believe these girls just set a new benchmark in Pathetic.
Poor chicks – it’s friggin’ cold at night this weekend.
who would camp out and sleep on the street at night in los angeles –not exactly the safest city even if they are on the westside.
What I find interesting is that none of the girls in the photos is actually READING ANY OF THE BOOKS. Nosir, what they can be seen reading is HARPER’S BAZAAR, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and PEOPLE.
Now, that is indeed scary.
Im guessing most of these comments are from Men. In fact I’m guessing most of the comments here on this entire site are from Men. Angry, bitter, the dream has passed them by, gotta pee in someone else’s pool losers who forgot or never knew what it was like to be young and to have a crush.
These are the same women who waited in line for the Beatles, cheered for Mick, and who put up with your obsession with Mickey Mantle, Travis Bickle, Michael Jordan, Luke Skywalker, Tyler Durden or whoever you idolized at one point, real or not.
If they are losers then so is everyone who ever wanted to touch the sky of their heroes. Which is all of us, You too, Nikki,
I think this is a little too extreme… and I’m a Twilight fan! The consolation is, with Chris Weitz at the helm, at least the fans will get a good movie. I shudder to think what Catherine “Cuckoo” Hardwicke would have come up with with New Moon. I hope the fans behave (somewhat) during the premiere and control their urge to hurl underwear at Rob P. and Taylor L.
Are any of these little Twilighters raising money for charity like the Star Wars Fans did?
actually…the “twilight moms” (who are a bunch of older 40 year old women who have families but still manage to come to these events by cutting in line and saving spots for 30 people) have charities that they donate to. they were selling twilight cupcakes.
My psychic senses are telling me that this movie will be a major disappointment for fans. I saw the trailor for that movie for the first time today, and can tell that its gonna suck major ass.
