scary.
who knew teenage girls could make star wars fans look like windowshoppers!
Two to one says a lot of these folks were also the people in line to see Paramore on Wednesday at the Palladium. (Whoever their manager is has a sharp eye for when and where to book tours…)
They did the same thing in Boston – the actor that plays “Emmett” in the movie made a personal appearance, and fans were lined up the night before (mostly screaming teenage girls, judging from the news footage). One of the Boston TV stations (WHDH) ran a contest, where the winner got to meet Kellan Lutz; they were inundated within minutes.
To each their own.
WOW..IM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT LEAVING SAT. TO GET THERE…
The female equivalent of the Trekkies that wait for days outside the newest Star Trek movie.
Let’s introduce them to each other & see what kind of truly freaky kids they might produce.
That is, if they can figure out how sex actually works!
Yeah, except that the last TREK was well-written, clever and chock-full of good performances.
This franchise, on the other hand…
So funny.
Well, at least it’s closer than these girls will ever come to getting laid.
Looks like a real intellectual set. Now I’m reminded why this town makes sh-t and little else.
i drove past these people this evening, and they are really already camping for Monday’s premiere! i rolled down my window to ask a security guy there what the people were camping out for, and when he said Monday’s Twilight premiere, i said: so they are trying to get tix? and he said — no, they just are in line to try to get a spot really close to the red carpet!
wow.
Ya, I passed by tonight. The line stretched all the way down Le Conte to Westwood and probably 3/4 down the on Westwood. Really sad
this is just sad…
That is scary. Don’t these fans read more about other stuff than constantly breathing in “Twilight” or anything cast-related?
Sad. Just sad…
Obviously the recession hasn’t affected everyone…
Really? Or is this a PR stunt from the studio? I honestly can’t imagine anyone in 2009 doing the old camping out on the street thing, regardless of how popular the movie. Does anyone know if a studio might actually pay people to do this?
“Really? Or is this a PR stunt from the studio?”
Bingo! Some of those, uh, girls are gonna be pissed off when they find out most of the other girls are getting paid to act like emo fanboys.
billfenner1967 – you would be surprised what people still camp out for! try going by the venue the night before a hanson concert sometime.
PR? Y’mean like when Apple paid people to line up outside its store to buy iPhiones (okay, so it was in Poland. Still…)
Im sure these people have been apprised of opportunities that Summit may be offering to anyone who camps out for a few days.
These people clearly have alot of idle time on their hands.
What else are they supposed to do?! It’s not like there are any jobs for teens and college students these days (not to mention most of Hollywood).
Why is this so “sad”? They’re teenagers, which is a demographic we really need to continue reaching if the film industry is going to survive. It’s great they’re so into this film that they’d camp out to be a part of the premiere.
This is a true commentary on how stupid America has become. Obviously, these silly little girls don’t think school means much to them. We’ll see them again at the end of next week taking our order at McDonald’s.
GET A LIFE LOSERS!
Good for them. They’re making money for this town. Sux to be you holier than thou idiots who make no money.
Where’s Triumph the Insult Comic Dog when you need him?
WOW some people are ridiculous we dont go because we need men to protect us, not all of us go for Rob some of us just like the excitement of doing something out of the ordinary…we like to take days off to do new and exciting things instead of our old boring routines…now 5 days is tooo much!!! a day or two b4 the premiere is ok…but 5 days…no way i have to agree no life…Lol
It’s a movie and they are having fun. What’s sad is the tsk-tsking by the intellectual lightweights here who can’t lower their nose long enough to see the everyone is in on the joke.
What’s the big deal for you guys? If these people want to camp out because they’re excited, who gives a shit? let them have their fun.
I don’t really see the connection between being a fan of a film series and the decline of American civilization. U.S.A. has been on the downward slide for decades… Entertainment is just the violin while the Titanic is sinking…
