I’ve learned ABC will move Ugly Betty‘s time slot. The show had been relegated to the “Friday night death slot” of 9 PM during this 4th season, but now will settle into Wednesdays at 10 PM in the former Eastwick spot. An insider tells me, “We’ve been getting great reviews for the season but horrible ratings, and hopefully we’ve got a shot at lasting one more season with the move.”

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Its been an amazing season so far! Im so glad they did this! Amazinggggggg ahhhh!! Cant wait and i hope it does better
ABC now has a solid night of comedy – a vast improvement over Eastwick. I agree that Betty seems to be on a creative high this season and should do well with the fantastic Modern Family – these are 2 of the best shows on tv. Hope this will finally give the wonderful Vanessa Williams her much deserved Emmy.
I loved Eastwick!! Hate Cougar Town and Ugly Betty. What’s wrong with you people??
The show is pretty cute. But I guess the ratings will provide the final (potential) financial picture.
the first season was the best season. it’s been all down hill since there. moving the show around multiple times will make it difficult for viewers to find and they’ll just give up looking for it.
save betty! seriously this show is amazing this season and is perfect for the wednesday night lineup!!
Oh, that just increases my total heartbreak over the cancellation of Eastwick. Sniff.
Although, as a Tivo Peep, I really could care less what night things are on.
This is a great move for the show and well-deserved. ABC made a terrible mistake by scheduling the show on Fridays.
Yeah. Moving Ugly Betty from the Death Slot of Fridays at 8pm to the Death Slot of Wednesdays at 10pm.[1] Real show of support for Ugly Betty. Not. How do you say “a distiniction without difference” in network-scheduler-ese?

[1] Besides all Friday timeslots being Death Slots except on CBS, and all 10pm timeslots being Death Slots on NBC, Wednesday night at 10pm has historically been a Death Slot for ABC (its only real success in the timeslot in the past 25 years being China Beach), 9pm on Thursdays is a Death Slot for Fox (all Fox has to do is leave Fringe there for at least five years and they’ll finally have a presence), 8pm Wednesdays on CBS (until the past 3-4 years) and Tuesday nights at 8pm has been a Death Slot for NBC (hence, The Biggest Loser.) 9pm on Wednesdays for NBC, too, ’cause it’s where NBC has historically sent its aging sitcoms from other nights to die (NewsRadio, Just Shoot Me, etc.) Each network has at least one non-Friday, non-Sunday timeslot that’s a Death Slot because they don’t have the patience to keep a show in the timeslot long enough for either the show to get a following or for the viewership to realize that the net could quite possibly be serious about programming the timeslot. Moving Ugly Betty to 10pm on Wednesdays might have seemed like a promotion just because it’s not any Friday night timeslot, but, really, ABC’s lack of patience with the 10pm Wednesday timeslot just means that, well, they don’t know what they want to do right now.
They had no choice but to do this if they wanted to save this show for at least one more season. The ratings were abysmal on Friday nights, which was a stupid move to begin with for this show. They now have a glimmer of hope, now that eastwick is being shown the door.
Eastwick, The Unusuals, Life on Mars, Dirty Sexy Money,
The Nine,and Invasion:
What all of these shows have in common is that they were put into the “death slot” of 10 pm on ABC’s Wednesday lineup. I’m sure Ugly Betty will soon join that list.
The person in charge of programming at ABC really should be cancelled. The only network that really gives their programs a chance is CBS. In fact they know enough to bring programs back when viewers speak up. ABC on the other hand is bringing back Scrubs, again. That show has already died twice!!!
What they should do is put LOST into that time slot. It has a built in audience and this is their final season anyway. Perhaps their ratings would improve. They could have FLASH FORWARD and then LOST and BETTY could return to Thursday at 8 pm.
i can’t believe they have canceled Eastwick – what’ the matter with ABC!!!! Dirty Sexy Money, then Lipstick Jungle, now Eastwick – my favorites and I am 61 years old and i loved them all!!! Bring Eastwick back.
Ugly Betty sucks!! Bring back Eastwick!!!!!!! Or lose viewers Abc!
Bring back Eastwick! Smart, sexy comdies are hard to come by!
I am totally disappointed. I have watched Ugly Betty a few time, but never thought it was a great show. I loved Eastwick and Im sooooo disappointed that they have canceled it to put Ugly Betty in its place. For that reason I have stopped watching all shows on ABC on Wednesdays.
UGLY BETTY SUCKS AND EASTWICK IS AWESOME!!! BRING BACK EASTWICK!!!
