It’s Real Steel, from Touchstone Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures slated for November 18, 2011. This is the first motion picture to be dated for release under the new distribution and marketing deal between The Walt Disney Studios and DreamWorks Studios. Shawn Levy directs Hugh Jackman from John gatins script about the new sport of robot-boxing.

How is robot-boxing a NEW sport?
haha, my bad Klaatu. just noticed the link you posted to the classic toy
Smells like A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
You have no idea how crazy this is. Dreamworks was hoping against hope that former employee Adam Goodman would NOT opt to cofinance. And the genius took the bait, giving Disney a monster hit!
Who’s putting odds down that we get at least one title change before this one sees light of day?
Feel-good sports story? Check. A full-grown adult all of a sudden finds out he has a kid he’s neglected for their entire life? Check. Uh oh, sounds like Oren’s idiotic movie choices has infected Spielberg and Stacy Snider.
John is a great guy, a good writer and glad to see him working it!
Isn’t this the remake of the old Richard Matheson TWILIGHT ZONE story? Heaven forbid they actually get Matheson (one of the best writers Hollywood’s ever had) update his own story…
Sounds terrible.
Makes Taylor Lautner’s Max Steel seem like an Oscar-worthy epic.
Sounds like a ripoff of the Twilight Zone episode “Steel” with Lee Marvin.
How is this movie not called “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots”?!
Sort of like Rocky meets Terminator? LOL!
I’m actually looking forward to this. I enjoyed the original story by Matheson and the Twilight Zone episode is a classic along with many other episodes of TZ. It’ll be interesting to see Jackman in the Lee Marvin role.
