You’ve GOT to watch this holiday card from 20th Century Television. Brutally honest and humorous about the biz. (My jaw is still on the floor.) UPDATE: Ah, it was written by Modern Family‘s Steve Levitan which is it’s funny. And it was made in a 1/2 hour during the crew’s lunch break.

How horribly, disturbingly, smugly, unfunnily, asshole-ly inappropriate! They should have just said f-you to everyone. Wow.
Did they drop one of your pilot scripts, Bowser?
Get a sense of humor. It’s nice that they will to poke fun at themselves.
Agree with “Anonymous”…these are not people known for their senses of humor, so bravo to Dana and Gary for pulling it off. Very funny. Naysayers: Get a life AND an sense of humor.
They’re not making fun of themselves, they’re mocking the people who are out of work.
Jeez, how hilarious!
Wow. Have a drink on us “Bowser”. And take your unsold TV spec back to Ohio with you!
you need to be a fan of the show to “get” this. If you are, this is hilarious – totally in keeping with the writing on the show. If you are not – well, then you just won’t get it. Merry ChristmaHannaKwanzika!
Classic.
I can respect folks who won’t let an opportunity to get a laugh get away, especially one what speaks to a bigger truth about the industry.
On this show, though, the actors are just fine–it’s all the other behind the scenes departments on fox studios tv shows (not just this one) that are being cut back to two/three days a week of work, and then have to try and pick up work on other shows. And this is just the first season…how are they going to cut further when the actors all demand raises.
More members of the “Down with Christmas” group!
Go pound sand.
What about horizontal integration? Ha cha cha…
Thought it was hilarious, not a big deal.
Dana is so hot. omg.
I know, right.
Yeah, so right. Dana Walden is the hottest executive in town. Even though she’s older now, she still looks amazing.
Maybe I should have more of a sense of humor about this, but geez, guys… doesn’t ANYONE in this town have even a smidge of class anymore?
No, and if you buy my scripts I’ll ___________ insert what you want.
where ever you want
Where have you been?
Screen “Actors” Guild Board Member and you question the lack of CLASS in Hollywood?!?! I grew up in the biz doing the acting thing and always felt most actors were classless. Come on!!
I just don’t think it’s very funny. Certainly not “brutally honest about the biz.” If that tepid piece qualifies as brutal honesty, we’ve fallen a long, long way.
I have to agree, 3-4 years ago this would have been HILARIOUS but with so many out of work – its a tough one and not exactly sure it was the right time. That being said, not everything has to be so serious and PC, you know? It’s like why not.
Honestly… do they think they’re funny?
No wonder their shows are doing so bad.
What a bunch of f*cking douche-bags.
Love Modern Family and thought this was hilarious!
It’s comedy.
Geez people.
The unfunny kind.
Ok, maybe a little too close to some to be funny.
Any watch “Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas” last night? Some pretty funny skits.
What do you expect from those who feed at the trough of mediocrity?
To be less uptight than you. Obviously they are and those are the people I like to hang out with.
She’s even more charming than I remember … oy vey.
Could Dana’s forehead actually be more botoxed than mine?
This is WAY better than BS dancing elves!
Funny forgives a lot, but funny this ain’t, which means all it is is tasteless.
Awesome. It’s great when everyone stops taking what we do so seriously. For those bothered by this – you gotta get out of LA for awhile. Spend some time where people don’t give a s–t about what’s going on in the tv or film world.
stupid
I work for them and find it pretty hilarious.
I thought it was funny as hell (and I had so many failed pilot deals back in the day, I had enough step-deal money to buy a house in Malibu) – but even I didn’t, I don’t see how making fun of yourself is tasteless.
Well this really got a laugh out of me. People shouldn’t take this so seriously tho it is a joke. Of coarse I don’t want my salary cut! But that is to be determined not threw a silly holiday video. At least someone is trying to lighten things up a little.
Oh please. Like you have a salary in Hollywood.
I thought this was hysterical. But, to each his own.
Feeding at the trough of mediocrity…
Watching you shift uncomfortably in your seat because the stick up your ass is pretty well lodged in there.
wow. I think their performance shows that ANYONE can get in front of a camera and be… well… ALMOST funny. They were ALMOST as good as the “real” actors. Maybe all the execs should just fire the actors and take their places. Yeah folks these are the people that decide what constitutes humor and entertainment. Now THAT explains a lot about why TV looks the way it does.
wanted to laugh, but just didn’t think it was funny. i wonder how much it cost to produce? they should have just given that money to a charity. i can picture them now all standing around the monitor laughing and patting themselves on the back. ugh.
