Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

So does that leave Harvey & Bob back on top?
The Road better be in the Oscar discussion…no Golden Globe? That’s pathetic.
So “Up in the Air” is now a drama, and “Sherlock Holmes” and “A Serious Man” are comedies?
Also, “Duplicity” is now a comedy.
Nobody from Sons of Anarchy is nominated ? That is a farce……..Anyone agree?
No ‘Sons of Anarchy’ recognition is a shame..
Sons of Anarchy is atrocious, and the snub is deserved. Go play your video games.
I agree, this is a joke it didn’t get nominated for anything.
Thanks Mike
Golden globes sucked!! Its so true in life.. its who u no not
what u no!! NEW MOON GOT HOSE AND SO DID THE ACTORS! That’s ok
cause if the public was voting NEW MOON would take it all!!
WE STILL NO WHOS THE BEST!!!!!!! DAMN DUST COLLECTOR AINT GOING
TO TELL US! PROFIT DOES!$!$!$!$$$
SOA is hands down one of the best shows on tv now.
No FX shows at all. Breaking Bad deserves to be thrown a bone as well. Just finished Season 2 last month and I think it’s great.
i agree and White Collar too but love that Glee and Modern Family got the nod!!
Julia Roberts, are they serious? I guess it is all about getting “stars” to attend, not quality. Where is Jeremy Renner–oh no one knows his name, so he is left off. Up in the Air is being pushed as the best thing since sliced bread, but looks bland and is now a “drama” because dramas usually win Oscars. Some nominations are good, but some are really suspect.
I saw Up In The Air yesterday and thought it was a terrific drama (sad and poignant) but I do agree Jeremy Renner should have been nominated, and should WIN. The Hurt Locker is sublime. Julia Roberts… yawn. Duplicity… Yawn.
This has never been more of a joke.
Love all the great Animation films this year, but so disappointed not to see Mary and Max making the cut or, for that matter, anything else from Australia. Adam Elliot’s beautiful film should be on here.
Hurt Locker, your free ride in this awards season just ended. Meet Avatar.
It’s a cartoon. Grow up.
I can’t believe Viggo didn’t get nominated. I still can’t believe they dumped The Road. Stupid Stupid People!
@Kendall when was “A Serious Man” not considered a comedy, I’ve seen it twice and all I did was laugh
No District 9 equals no credibility.
Meanwhile, Inglorious Suckterds was pointless spectacle, the cinematic equivalent of a Steve Vai solo on a three-necked guitar that noodles on forever.
D9 got a screenplay nod. I think that’s fair
“An Education” has been left out – no one to promote it? – and Viggo is not nominated. Well, at least “The Road” avoided being classified as comedy along with “Serious Man”!
Sandra Bullock in The Proposal – are you serious?!?!?!? This is a joke!
This list is a joke! Julia Roberts is a fine actress but ‘Duplicity’ was one of her worst performances — not to mention the directors etc went out of their wake to make her look homely, which is not an easy feat, I am sure.
Julie & Julia mentioned in any award? I started watching that movie twice (via PPV) never could make it all the way through. I turned over to C-SPAN after about an hour …..
How can ANYONE stand to listen to Meryl Streep when she she talked like a loony goony bird?
Have you never seen Julia Child? That’s exactly how she sounded. When an actor plays a person with such distinctive manners and voice you need to move & sound like them. Meryl nailed Julia with complete accuracy.
That is how Julia talked. Why else do you think she would talk that way. It was an amazing performance and well deserved.
I will be rooting for DEXTER and John Lithgow.
I have never been more happy to see a character get killed off than when Dexter’s wife was laying in that bloody tub. My literal reaction was “alright” and not “oh no,” as one would suspect.
Once again FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS gets snubbed! It is only the BEST show on TV and has been since 2006. And Kyle Chandler/Connie Britton portray the most realistic married couple EVER seen on TV. I don’t understand what goes through the minds of these people…
Agreed. I know House is a good show with huge ratings, but I gave up watching because it’s a big formulaic and predictable. I would much rather see some FNL on this list than House.
“Precious” and “Up In the Air” were nominated as expected, but there’s a bit of an enthusiasm lag there. I expected one of them (most likely “Precious”) to be steaming towards a Best Picture win, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. Maybe it’s because they’re both kind-of bleak, or because the critical reaction has been great, but not overwhelming. On a slightly related note, I’m a bit surprised that Oprah Winfrey can’t deliver her audience to a movie the way she can to … well, everything else.
This is all good for “The Hurt Locker”, I suppose.
And another thing: the ‘Golden Globes’ forgot all about Season 7 and ’24′ (plus the miniseries preview “Redemption.”) Here was the chance to give CHERRY JONES another deserved award.
The Golden Globes apparently were blinded by the light: (last year’s two blinding lights of the gorgeous globes of Kate Winslet). This year they are simply BRAIN DEAD.
24? Haha. Watch some real TV why don’t you.
Worst. Nominations. Ever.
A show that nobody watches (30 rock with 3 nominations) on a network that nobody watches (NBC with 5 nominations)…Good choice GG. Where is Bog Bang Theory or Monk?
HFPA is a weird bunch … I’ll wait for the Oscars
Wow, what a joke of a list of nominations, looks like yet another year of NOT watching the Golden Globes. One day they jokers will wake up and see the truth behind these “Politically Correct” “Feel Good” nominations and actually put up nominations that are valid and have merit.
Nikki – no one seems to be mentioning that in many of these award nominations it’s Kathryn Bigelow vs. James Cameron for Best Director. Former Husband and Wife…
What about “Breaking Bad” in the television category???? Stephen King wrote in Entertainment Weekly that he thought it was the best written show on television. But what would Stephen King know about writing, right? Maybe it should be called the “Golden Goobers”. Give it a day…someone will blame Obama.
