Thank you Marc Weinstock!
Yet they cry they have no money and use the economy as an excuse to screw people over on their deals?
The studios do well. The people that work in the industry, the grips, makeup artists, and other below-the-line people don’t share in the wealth of the studios. California has to compete with the other states that offer incentives, or more jobs here are lost. So its not about the studios. Its about your neighbors who work in the film industry. Thanks.
Sony’s marketing team is second to none. and bringing back Nigel Clark was a fantastic decision. They now have the best international team around
must have been that blockbuster subway movie with Denzel that put them over the top.
don’t know if emmerich’s gross deal helps their margins, though.
Gosh, how do they keep breaking these records? Could it be that they’re nominal records, unadjusted for inflation?
Thank you Marc Weinstock? His only international experience is eating Italian food. How about production execs have been focusing on broadening their projects for more worldwide appeal. And Nigel is a toothless bore.
what’s funny is that they didn’t even have a major major tentpole ala Spiderman, and yet still pulled it off with films like 2012.
This is further proof that film piracy is out of control and destroying the industry everywhere. And that’s great news for John McCain!
So why are they still laying people off again? And why do they claim they are flat broke and have no cash for production until April 10? Smells like week old fish in the sun.
Best year ever! Best studio in the world! Biggest $$$ ever! Oh, and we have nothing to pay U, go fuck yourselves WGA, DGA and SAG, and oh yeah, what’s going on at Sony? (See how proud Mr. Stringer is?) Trust me, this press release will be a distant memory in 2011. Note to guilds: keep a copy of it and drop it from a plane all over Hwood!
