Back in June I posted about the feeding frenzy among Hollywood agencies to sign Ice Cube because he makes something like $10M a year. Now Ice Cube has discharged WME over the weekend and signed with UTA. He will be repped by a team led by his former agents Ramses IsHak and Michael Sheresky, who themselves joined UTA earlier this year, as well as UTA board members Tracey Jacobs and Jeremy Zimmer. Also signing with UTA is the actor-director-writer-producer’s production company Cube Vision, which is run by Cube’s producing partner, Matt Alvarez. This is a busy time for Cube and Alvarez who are in post production on the Alcon comedy Lottery Ticket and are also developing the comedy Ride Along for New Line. Cube Vision additionally just started production on the TV series “Are We There Yet?,” based on Cube’s hit film of the same name, which the duo is producing with a substantial series commitment from TBS. I’m told that Cube will continue to be represented by manager Jeff Kwatinetz (at his new company Prospect Park) and attorney Matt Johnson.

Good for Mike and Ramses! Cube should have gone with them in the first place. On the other hand, I’m sorry they now have to keep working with Matt Alvarez… what a supreme douche!
Dude, you are SO WRONG about Matt Alvarez.
He’s not a douche.
He’s a dick.
Ramses and Sheresky are good dudes.
Kwatinetz is great also, if you are on his good side…
And with the “BLIND SIDE” making mucho dinero, I am sure that Cube and Alverez will set up their based-on-true-story movie, TOUGH LOVE. This was an article in ESPN the magazine about the real life story of an NFL player, Tebucky Jones, and his kids moving back into the hood to learn a lesson about what’s really important.
Ice Cube is on the up swing – again! Never count him out – he is CUBE!!!!!!
Tough Loss WME.
This is such a great sign for UTA!! And it looks like Ice Cube is gonna be with some of their best over there too. UTA really saw the forest for the trees with him. The so-called behemoth new agency WME really screwed the pooch on this one! Cube is a multi-hypenate with his own company, a gigantic fan base in acting and music, and he pulls in truckloads of dough. UTA really cleaned up WME’s mess this year!
Irony is a pill best served cold. Frankly i don’t know why ice cube just didn’t follow his agents to uta. i guess i can see the lure of this new monster agency, but there’s clearly more smoke than fire there. wme has their heads so far up their asses right now, uta will surely see what they’ve got and do good by last 6 months that he’s been in movie purgatory. and uta is such a great fit for him. they nurture unique voices and know how to have talent cross over effectively into many forms of media. wme should stand for Will Merge Eventually because they sure as hell don’t have an unity and clear communication goin over there yet.
Boba here ramses and Mike are like the most awesomenest agent ever rock on….WME are so not where it is at!!!!!! UTA wooo hoooo!!!!!!
Michael Sheresky and Ramses are class acts. Congratulations to Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez!
Cube will be finally get the attention he deserves at UTA. From what it sounds like, Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez gave WME a chance, but it didn’t pan out… Shocker.
Adding Tracey Jacob’s and Jeremy Zimmer to mix is a homerun. Great job!
Mike and Ramses are a winning team. Glad to see that they are back with the Cube.
good for ramses and mike and uta. they are a couple of hard-working, never say die agents. what a big score for the agency too having those guys come over and bringing what looks like their entire freaking list. cube and matt are smart dudes for sticking with them. and yet another big money earner fires wme due to the lack of cohesive leadership and a merger that is proving more and more to be about the upper management’s ego stroking instead of servicing their clients’ careers.
Tis’ a busy time for Cube for sure… Alvarez is just twiddling his thumbs wondering how he got to be so lucky. It takes more work to collect a welfare check then that guy has ever put in…
Sheresky and Ramses are cold blooded awesome
Alvarez is awesome too
to the people dissing him – cubevision passing on yr weak projects make them smart and apparently you bitter
viva la Cube!!
Ramses is poison to all around him….good luck to cube…he’ll need it….
Good for Cube. Good for Alvarez. No hatin’ on Alvi. You all wish you’d be him!
I guess Cube and Alvarez realized that Rome or WME was not built in a day. An agency “in progress” is not good for your career. Bravo to Mike and Ramses.
There’s a LOT of positive comments about Ramses & Sheresky. Either their assistants are hard at multitasking…or these comments are valid.
They’re valid. Cube makes coin and Ramses & Sheresky are hard-working class acts.
“Kevin” sounds like a turned down screenwriter in desperate need of unwarranted representation and possible some anti-depressants.
This is a solid case about the agents being good as opposed to the agency. Clearly Ice and Matt saw this. They may have been taken in by Ari + Co’s bigness idea, but when it’s all said and done, who’s handling U and how well is where it’s at.
I understand WHY you did it CUBE, just wish you didn’t do it. These guys don’t get you! And are using you only to settle a vendetta. Keep applying the pressure and all the BS will come to light soon.
Careful UTA folks. If Richard Lovett ever sees this picture of Cube in Packers (his favorite team) attire he’ll convince him of the greener pastures at CAA.
Didn’t know UTA was into RACIST, ANTI-SEMETIC, ANTI-GAY, talent.
Listen to Ice Cube’s music and hear him rip on White Cave Bitch”, “Faggots”, and “Jew” managers, etc.
