Film Independent just announced that comedian Eddie Izzard will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. “Izzard’s tangential, absurd, bizarre, and surreal comic narratives are lauded for their creativity and wit, which suits the irreverent, laid-back style of the Spirit Awards.” This year’s Spirits will be a late-night show on March 5, 2010 at LA Live’s event deck in downtown Los Angeles and shown live and uncut on IFC.

I can’t believe there are no more comments than this!! Eddie Izzard is one of the the most freakin’ awesome actor/stand-up comics out there!! And I mean “out there”, as in the planet! He’s from England, so, of course his humour is naturally original, and extremely entertaining!! And so what if he likes to dress like a woman? Did that keep the U.S. from putting him on a very popular tv show? (With Minnie Driver- remember??). I own every DVD the man has ever put out(no pun), and I never fail to get a laugh out of them, especially when I have company over that’s never seen him- they have now! And I’ve never had anyone leave!! English homour is SO different than the same ole crap that we watch in the U.S. everyday, and only Eddie can perform these performances- Russel who??? Eddie Izzard is THE original “bring it on” to the U.S., and I think, the perfect person to host any award show. We are a much more accepting society, are we not?? I love you Eddie Izzard, and I am a 45-yr. old female that still loves to laugh!! Good luck on the show and to you as well!!! (How ’bout a new DVD???)
