UNIVERSAL CITY, CA, January 14, 2010 — Universal Pictures Co-Chairman Donna Langley today announced that Jeffrey Kirschenbaum has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Production. He’ll report to recently named President of Production Debbie Liebling.
“Jeff has been an essential component in the success of some of our big event films at Universal, ” said Langley. “He brings skill and enthusiasm to everything he does and we look forward to having his continued contributions to our creative process.”
Kirschenbaum served as the production executive on Universal’s highest grossing film of 2009, Fast & Furious. He also worked on Universal tentpoles Wanted, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and The Bourne Ultimatum. Kirschenbaum is currently involved in the production of Scott Pilgrim VS. The World and is developing Wanted 2, Battleship, 47 Ronin and the fifth installment in the Fast and Furious series.
Kirschenbaum, came to Universal in 2001 as Director of Development and was promoted to Vice President of Production in 2004. He has been Senior Vice President of Production at Universal since 2007. Before coming to Universal, he spent three years as an executive at Mace Neufeld Prods. He is a graduate of UCLA and received his M.F.A. in screenwriting from the American Film Institute.
