This is hilarious. I’ve learned that a slew of Kristen Stewart fans somehow got the personal e-mails of Sundance buyers who were circling her Jake Scott-directed film Welcome To The Rileys. In their avalanche of messages, twitters and texts, the Twihards are imploring the execs to buy and release the film starring the Twilight Saga heroine — or at least get them DVDs of the pic. Among the surprised execs is Sony Pictures Classics’ Michael Barker. The film is geared to an adult audience, but the filmmakers keep seeing mobs of young faces at every screening. (UPDATE: The fans say they are adults, not teens.) Three buyers are said to be circling, but no word yet if they are being swayed, or just annoyed, by the email campaign. UTA is shopping the movie, which also stars James Gandolfini. No reports so far of Sopranos fans muscling buyers on his behalf.

It was actually older non-teens that we’re emailing. We wanted them to know that Kristen’s fans aren’t all 13 year old girls.
Exactly, that’s what our emails said, too. We are mature adults and we want to see this movie, and not just because we are Twilight fans, but because we are KRISTEN STEWART fans!
crazy how just with a sh!tload of crazy teenagers that think you’re ‘Bella’ you can get so far. she has zero talent, charisma, on-screen presence. she’s just soo bad. and her fans make me second-hand embarrased.
Pam,
I just have one question. What other movies of Kristen have you seen to have this opinion about her acting ability?
By the way the great movie critic Roger Ebert just said this about Kristen Stewart.
@ebertchicago Saw “Welcome to the Rileys.” Kristen Stewart is a fine actress. Saints preserve her from vampire movies.
“Kristen Stewart here is tougher even than her punk rocker in “The Runaways.” Who knew she had these notes? I’m discovering an important new actress.”
I can go on and add some more praises she has received from her co-workers and critics for this movie and all the other movies she has done so far.
Re: Kristen Stewart. I’m in agreement w/Pam on this one KStewAngel.
Ms. Stewart has a long way to go to achieve actress cred.
I noticed that although she may have played many roles, she’s consistant in keeping with the “same” character, over and over and over no matter what role the character is.
Its the same character played we see repeatedly.
There is no variety to her acting style.
She plays one character for everything and that is:
The fierce tough little girl that could. Its so one dimensional, almost like a cartoon character. And that’s too bad because she was handed many opportunities to show us her stuff (if she’s got it).
Example:
Never seen her vulnerable, soft or brainy, or dumb or classy, .. she plays the same “fierce” girl throughout all of her roles.
Even in a role where she played a handicapped person. It was the same thing.
when you’re not famous as kristen is now you happen to only get the same kind of roles because that’s what the directors seen you as.
Kristen can now choose her projects more and she did the runaways that ‘s very different and is doing on the road.
Sorry Mr. Fleming, but I’m far from being a teenager. How about adding another 20 years to that Rated R minimum age.
Why does everyone assume that Kristen Stewart fans are twi-hards and teenagers??
I REALLY wish I knew. It’s like those of us who have been fans of Kristen’s for 5 years (Fierce People, Zathura – though that I blame on the fact I have a sister who’s 7 years younger than me – were both 2005) are automatically invalidated because Twilight became so massive.
For the record? I’m 28. The only reason I saw Twilight in the first place was for Kristen… It’d be nice if everyone would stop lumping me in with the Twihards.
they weren’t twi-hards…they were kristen fans. my goodness most of them are above 18…most kristen fans are not even twi-hards…pls stop classifying them as that…its a stereotype!
What’s really funny is that this grass roots campaign was based on older fans wanting the movie released, and worrying execs think only kids too young for R rated films are in the fanbase.
There are plenty of…more seasoned fans who want to see this movie get a good release. Fans of Kristen, not Twilight.
We were campaigning as Kristen fans. Not Twilight fans.
lol…this sh*t is funny!!…also very cute if you think about it! I personally don’t understand why it hasn’t been picked up yet, i want to watch it myself just because of the buzz that it has…i’ll judge for myself…hopefully her fans and those who just want to watch a good movie will be able to watch it soon.
Well I sent an email and I’m not a teenager, really want to see this movie!
Where did you get the idea it was teenage twihards? because it wasnt
Yeah – you know what, I am a hardcore fan which has been supporting this film and Kristen Stewart avidly and I really, really hate the fact that her fans are immediately assumed to be ‘twihards’.
I do not like Twilight(along with a lot of her fans i’ve seen), and it’s so vexing to be deemed part of that madness simply because it’s the biggest film she’s in and well because twilight fans are very… prominent.
But whatever, I hope Welcome To The Rileys gets an opportunity to be seen by the world.
Mike, you seem to be misinformed. Many of those who have supported Welcome To The Rileys, and communicated to that effect, have never seen a Twilight movie, did watch the The Sopranos, and are indeed humans over 40 years of age.
I am twenty four and not a twilight fan…I participated in the emailing because we want this movie!! We are not teens! Stop with the assumptions! Thanks.
Actually, many of us are not teens and quite a few dislike twilight. We are Kristen fans.
Not everything having to do with Kristen Stewart is Twilight related folks
Hear there are offers in on this …
Can’t wait to see it!
actually laugh all you want but some of us lobbied as tony sopranos fans thank you very much.
They are swarming becuase Kristin set them on a task to do it (sorta). She sad in an interview that the twi-tard fans would love this movie. This was of course a call to arms to all the twi-tard fans to do their masters bidding.
I will never understand Kristen Stewart. On one hand she acts like fame is such a burden but the second it starts to waiver, out comes the Twighlight flag.
Anyone who refers to someone as a retard (and, yes “Apple”, when you call someone a “Twi-tard”, that is what you are doing and I think it is offensive) should, at the very least, learn to spell. T-W-I-L-I-G-H-T.
You don’t have to like the Twilight books or movies, but you should at least own a dictionary.
Pretty sure “Twi-hard” is a play on “Die Hard.”
Yes, but Apple didn’t say Twi-hard, he said Twi-tard.
ummm, I didn’t get that at all from Kristen’s comments and as far teen “twi” fans, um hello I am 37 and I have been a Kristen fan since Fierce People! I think Kristen was merely responding to the media’s Bella gone stripper take on the movie, she was saying it’s not what you might think. I am truly looking forward to seeing it. It’s not a matter of IF it’s going to theaters it’s a matter of when and who the lucky company is that’s smart enough to buy it!!!
AOG
Your dam right she acts like fame is a burden, IT IS.
People are so use to actors playing a double life & being a “personality” that once they see Kristen they don’t understand her.
She is an actor, NOT a personality. She will not sugar coat anything & will not buy into this whole media circus act of parties, sponsorships, celebrity gift suties, etc.
first & foremost (and like i have mentioned) she is a serious actress and she shouldn’t be held responsible if she dosen’t want to act like an idiot like you see all these other actors doing.
& I know you stated that she “sorta” said that twilight fans would love this movie, i’m sure that she would like her fans to see her other works too and not just see her as “bella”, so thats why she said that.
A part from that, this should be good news to those interested buyers. Since money is everyones #1 priority today (esp in Hollywood) they can expect to make big bucks off of this flim so good for the fans emailing them & letting them know.
Actually about 3/4 of the people out there helping WTTR out are over 18 so I don’t get this whole “young faces” and “teenager” thing. Some don’t even like the Twilight Saga. We just love Kristen because of her talent … period. And she is badass and the film deserves to be seen!
kristen better not forget twlight because it’s have her were she is today ,i know some of you will not agree with but be honest people she is mostly popular because of twlight all the other movies she is known for twlight, however she is a very good actress and she will reach far ,kristen honey don’t ever damn the bridge
twi hard or not, i like kristen stewart shes raw and honest in interviews. this movie looks interesting and why shoudnt it get a release ?
funny you say that Apple, because i dont get that impression from her at all!! She said she would love for them to see it…how the hell is that calling out to twihards to bully their way to see this film?…i don’t understand peoples logic man…they say one thing and you totally misinterpret it as something else. English isn’t rocket science, why can’t people just comprehend what is written or said! Your like a freaking gossip rag!
P.S her fame is in no way waivering!!…If anything its getting bigger with her two performances…if WTTR is not going to get distributed, her performance alone is still her VIP ticket to the big leagues…to the point where she doesn’t NEED to audition…thats big stuff!
to Apple:
okay now that’s ridiculous, she said that she thinks twilight fans would enjoy the movie because the reporter/s actually asked the (stupid) question if she thinks twilight fans would.
you obviously don’t like her, why don’t you spend your time more efficiently, and at least do your research.
