As expected, Precious continues it’s sweep.
Nice to see Tyler Perry can buy his way to awards
OK, so on the one hand we have pure “whatever” comedy and on the other a movie with more holes than a sieve. Great job this year.
more like the tyler perry awards
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CARES!!!
Read this list of “artists” and “projects” and I defy you, not to laugh your ass off. And yes I’M BLACK…since that matters.
Wow, looks like Tyler Perry’s shows swept up this award show. I don’t think we saw any big surprises here. Cuba Gooding Jr. was amazing in Gifted Hands and of course Precious won, as it should.
Who cares. Precious is a downer and Invictus was blah. When I go to see a movie, I want to leave feeling good. I can’t speak for the rest of the nominees because I didn’t see them and have no interest in them, so I won’t see them. I expect they were cheap to make and the studios green lighted them and then there’s the added push to promote black films because of the added incentives. Studios think they are too cool for their own britches. Unfortunately, most of us black folks don’t care.
as expected everything was awarded to anything connected to Tyler Perry since he was receiving the chairman’s award.
Precious since it’s on the oscar track was going to win everything as well.
anything Obama related was going to win.
we in the audience had a good laugh as would announced who won before the announcers read the name. The show like many other award shows doesn’t have integrity when it comes down to the winners of the awards. Maybe they should have all naacp members being able to vote.
preface this with letting you guys know i’m black
this list is some WACK BS – i think the Image Awards could actually mean something, but because they only reward the same contrived work (with the exception of literary, which is a good thing) they are irrelevant and insulting
It’s getting that way, I’ve noticed. I LOVE Mitchell, but Brothers is HORRIBLE! Also, while I don’t think Precious “didn’t deserve” their awards, but they really needed to stop preaching that night with their acceptance speeches.
Preface this post with the fact that I am black like Tad (as you know from my first post).
I totally agree Tad. WTF is NAACP thinking? Raise the bar. Don’t just pass out awards because Hollywood only allows for dumbed down black product. NAACP demand that the product is excellent in every way and allow be inclusive BTW of other ethnicities. They don’t hurt you you know? This “first” is hopefully the last of “F” scored films. Take your time and create beautiful movies. These movies were bad, bad, bad.
Someone Q the perennial “Why aren’t there more Blacks in the movie business?” comments that always goes with this award show.
I just wan to say,it’s so difficult.but I want to know the truth about it.
