EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that after 5 PM today, bidders will be told who won that Taylor Lautner-attached script Abducted which the new motion picture lit agency Verve sent out for its client Shawn Christensen. (At one point, Lionsgate asked for an exclusive negotiating window.) Meanwhile, there’s a lot more Lautner news. He and Skydance’s flyboy movie Northern Lights have “respectfully parted ways over casting issues”, sources tell me, noting, “Taylor’s people want to step up and put the best actors and directors around him.” (I hear the Northern Lights project will continue to move forward without Lautner…) Now 5 more movies have been offered to the Twilight Saga’s 18-year-old co-star, including 2 for that open April slot. As for that new salary high of $7.5 million Skydance had offered him for Northern Lights, I’ve learned that Universal paid him that sum to play the title role in Stretch Armstrong. It’s good to be Taylor right now. (And let me talk you off the ledge if you’re not.)

LOL. Everything involving Taylor is full of fail.
Come on! I am so sick of hearing about Taylor. HE IS A BAD ACTOR! Once some of his movies begin to TANK, and they will, the studios will realize that giving him these franchises was a MISTAKE. He puts GIRLS in the seat, whioh is fine, but he doesnt not appeal to the young adult male demographic (16-32), and these franchises that he has landed are targeting that exact demographic.
Lautner should take a cue from his co star Robert Pattinson. His upcoming project is from an amazing script w/ a talented bunch of actors and is currently doing a film w/ no less than Declan Donellan, perhaps the best theater director around. I heard Rob was also offered lots of scripts after twilight but he opted to say no simply because he would rather do decent roles than be typecasted w/ crappy roles just like what Lautner is doing to his doomed career. Obviously Rob learned his lesson from Twilight but I guess Lautner is more after the money. And Lautner should not be deceived thinking that he is already a big star, HW is just trying to milk whatever goodwill he gained from twilight and get money from it, because once it felt something goes amiss, its out of the door for the muscle man.
Robert Pattinson seems more of an actor than Lautner will ever be. Deep down Lautner knows he can’t act and taking ‘small’ movies is much too daunting. He needs all the bells and whistles.
His target audience is the female crowd. So he should have probably started with one or two romcom-leads, if he managed to pull those off then MAYBE the big league MAYBE.
Unless these movies get ridiculous marketing pushes, he is doomed. I’m not a big fan of the Efron-Labeuf-Pattinson trio, either but they are at least talented. They might not give great performances in great movies all the time, but they have some acting potential. So far I haven’t seen that in Lautner.
Robert Pattinson stays out of the spotlight when not promoting and seems to be honing his craft. I am sure he’s getting paid but its not the first thing you think of when you hear about his projects. He’s working with Reese Witherspoon next in an incredible role. He’ll be around for a long time. And he’ll be rich too !
Here’s an idea – let’s cast this no-talent pretty boy with Megan Fox (the no-talent pretty girl) in a serious classic drama (Chekov, perhaps). Pay them each $5 million and require that this will be the last film for each if the total gross is less than $100 million. Let’s see if we ever hear from them again.
Why does Hollywood insist on cramming people down our throats declaring they’re movie stars when in fact they are not. Megan Fox was on how many magazine covers and didn’t Jennifer’s Body bomb.
Funny enough.. he was a NOBODY in Twilight and now he’s SOMEBODY in New Moon..its amazing what going to the Gym 7days a week can do to your movie career huh…thats all Im saying…but what happens to him when he can’t be bother going to the Gym anymore and follow that ridiculously eating regime anymore…huh…I mean by the time hes 25 his body’s gonna look like a wringly 70year old…seriously…
See everytime I read about Taylor Lautners 7.5millions I get angry at my parents for not moving to Hollywood so I can be a movie star,(lol) because now I have to work at McDonalds flipping burgers so I can pay for my own tuition..Bloody Hell…man thats it my first kid is going straight to America…James Cameron..there better be another AVATAR in 2025..cos my kid’s gonna be in it…
Wow yall are really hatin on Taylor here. He is a great actor he puts all he can into the movie(s) he is doin and try to be a normal guy at the same time. I have met him in person and he is so so so nice and sweet trys to plz ppl and do his job. I can only name a few ppl like that in Hollywood . Taylor will go far in his career cuz its fan like me that help it along. And trust me there is a lot more ppl like me out there and ppl that are way more into him than I am. So Taylor keep doin what you do you got us all that love you behind you.
