• I like Ellen DeGeneres but unfortunately she isn’t doing it or me on AI. Simon not Ellen needs to go (though I know Simon is leaving). If anything she has proven that AI needed Paula Abdul. It is an entertainment show and the chemistry that Paula added was entertaining. The judging now seems flat and given the less than stellar performances by AI contestants it’s all to apparent what Paula brought to the show. I’m sure Simon Cowell must be aware of this too. I would expect to see Paula back in the judge’s seat on his new show. Her incoherent remarks are part of the fun in watching and Simon plays off of that. Simon Fuller is going to need to retool his judges panel next year if he wants to successfully compete with Simon Cowells ratings of the X Factor.

• Can anyone…ANYONE…PLEASE tell me what Ellen Dull-generes is doing on this show? I mean…seriously. I know she has an audience for her daytime show otherwise its plug would have been pulled, but is it enough to carry her to this platform? Does her bored and beaten to death dance routine to Chris Brown REALLY qualify her to sit on this panel? Her opinion couldn’t carry any less merit. Well…maybe it could…

• Ellen appears to be out of her element. She sounds like she is listening to what the other judges are saying and then changes a few words and makes it her comment. In one instance on Wednesdays show Randy told her it was her turn and you could hear her off camera saying “me really?” She was a poor choice for a judge!

• Its all an act Nikki. Just to get the viewers to watch their so called displeasure working with each other ..blah blah blah.

  Viewers will be intruiged thus will tune in to watch when they both will have a go at each other’s throat. Can’t believed we, in this age, we fell for it

  And what is with Kara pulling a Paula on us with her incoherent comments and never-ending claims of ‘as a songwriter’. Name one hit that anyone can remember written by this lady.?

  And the ‘dawg’ Randy. Sheesh! If all blacks speaks like him, then Obama is alone..very lonely black American.

• well, i think you could argue that her opinion as a music outsider (relatively speaking) holds MORE merit than randy or kara’s because she doesn’t come from a music business background. neither does the vast majority of the AI audience. she’s speaking from this perspective of, “i just know what i like,” which is how the AI audience responds. they don’t know what sells records or what works in the industry or what appeals to demographics- they just respond to what they like. in a way, she’s really just speaking for the viewing audience.

• It’s really sad. Ellen has done nothing but embarrass herself and give PLENTY of ammo to the “WTF is she doing there?” crowd. It’s painfully and abundantly clear every time she opens her mouth that she knows absolutely nothing about music – either the art or the craft – and beyond having a well-earned sense of what it’s like to ‘perform’ live in front of an audience of millions, she has nothing of value to add.

  A very poor choice on the part of Fuller et al, and one of the primary reasons that after next year when Simon is gone that AI is going to accelerate its path down the tubes.
