Here’s the place for you to piss on or praise the new format we’re trying (for at least the first few weeks) while Deadline|Hollywood and Deadline|New York begin to co-exist… Of course, no one ever likes change.

Sorry, hate it. Want to see stories on first page.
Just blend LA/NY/London on the same blog. give us at least a couple of lines of content so we can see if we want to read it. Actually the different city headlines should be different colors. Mostly I hate the clicking around but I am willing to give it a chance. But do you have to make it difficult?
Not crazy about this new format, actually I kinda don’t like it at all!
I like the idea of sharing eachother’s headlines on the respective page, I just wonder if there is another area on the page where you can list them.
I like the old format where the story is already loaded and ready to read…. please go back!
Keep fleming’s on the new york page, and nikki’s on the hollywood page
otherwise it is ridiculous
if one or the other has something to add to the story the other one wrote,
then that can be on both pages
otherwise it feels confusing and like one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing
Ugh…at least put back the 1st paragraph of the post. This looks like an attempt to drive up page views with no benefit to the user.
Agree – sometimes a headline won’t grab me, but the first sentence would.
Readers may get used to the headline format…one problem is that clicking the back arrow, up top, for homepage return doesn’t work!?
If you stay with this header style, though,(and yes, it’s the oldest trick in publishing to get readers deeper into *a newspaper’s pages*), then would recommend second pages offer advertisers a new placement at ‘content rates’ where you have presumably longer eyeball time.
You’re welcome. (And if DH ever charges a fee, may I get a few months free?)
I can’t navigate either using the back arrow. Did you figure out how to do it?
Hate it. Please stop with the headlines only. Thanks.
I like the way the new layout works. Now make a mobile version of the site.
sucks – go back to at least 1-2 paragraphs
I like DH & DNY stories on same page but can we have a few words of the story BEFORE the jump…it’s kind of a pain to have to click through every story and/or guess from the titles to decide whether to read on.
Also we don’t all read on mobile devices so while hiding video or photos behind the jump is fine for lower bandwidth users and I can understand hiding them, text should not be 100% hidden.
Thanks
I liked it much better when one could just scroll down because you can quickly scan the article and make a quick decision on whether or not you want or need to read that article. The new way takes time to switch back and forth to the main page as well. The beauty of the site besides being ahead and more informed than other news sources was that you could just scroll down and cruise. Can we go back to the cruising style soon???
agreed. I want to know a little bit before I take the time to click on it and read it.
I’d really enjoy not having to click every link, especially as someone who checks the Deadline on my cell phone.
Really not loving this new format. I like to come to your site and browse the stories 2x a day without having to click on a headline to see what it’s all about. That’s just my opinion though…
hate it. need to be able to see some of the content… dont want to have to keep going back and forth between the headlines and stories.
the old format was perfect, stick with it.
Please have the 1st couple of sentences in the DHD NY posts. Having no idea what an article is before clicking on the link and realizing it’s something I didn’t think it was isn’t awesome.
Not a big fan of the new format. Why should DH and DHNY be separate? Just put everything all together like one blog. It’s confusing like how it is now.
Not a fan.
I may be lazy but I liked having the whole story in front of me without having to click the link. It just feels boring now, Like a step backwards.
I hate the new format. Before it was so easy to come on to this site, breeze through the new posts and get caught up. This constant clicking back and forth is really degrading my user experience with this site.
This was a great web site. Why mess with perfection? Please go back to the old format.
piss on it.
I could live with it if only clicking on a headline automatically opened a new window, or even better a new tab in the same window. But as it is, the homepage disappears and, once finished with a story – or after getting the gist of it – it’s necessary to keep going back to the home – which I think has statistically proven to be a method of driving users away.
Hey, it’s not like food poisoning. But users tend to find the back and forth process tedious or annoying, and so move on faster than they will when they’re able to just dance back to the home page window.
FWIW
Definitely not feeling the headline only action. I like the way you had it before with the preview of the story as well…
Hate it. I like to be able to scroll through the many stories. It’s especially easier when I’m looking them up from my phone.
Truly unappealing.
