Here’s the place for you to piss on or praise the new format we’re trying (for at least the first few weeks) while Deadline|Hollywood and Deadline|New York begin to co-exist… Of course, no one ever likes change.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

It get confusing seeing just headlines on some and full post on others also the background color for NY should be different.
Don’t know why everyone’s bitching. No one’s career is gonna come crashing down over a click-through. Move your thumb, have some patience.
Hate to see some of these people with a newspaper. “What?! I have to TURN THE PAGE?!?! Ridiculous!!!”
“Everyone’s bitching” because we were ASKED whether or not we like the new format. Wouldn’t you expect to see different opinions?
Sorry… I don’t like it. A mere “teaser headline” is simply NOT enough information. I greatly prefer the former format that provides a headline and then follows with at least 4 or 5 lines of informational copy. Sometimes (depending on the story) that’s all I need. But if you’re going to ask me to click on EVERY headline just to see if I want to read more, I can tell you with certainty: I’ll read a WHOLE LOT LESS.
Why screw with success?
I don’t really like the only-headline thing where I have to click through to find out what the article is about. Having at least the first few sentences under the headline and then a cut is better.
it suckss!
dont like the new format. much easier to read before…Lets go back!
Don t understand the “New York” coverage/reason for separate site when all Fleming’s news is Hollywood based/related. Is he covering New York or is he covering Hollywood with you? If the latter, there shouldn’t be a Deadline New York. Illogical. That’s my two cents besides missing the snarky attitude you first established. Why is everything so dry now? Yawn.
I Think it would be better, more enticing, to include under the headline a line or two. This way the reader can determine if the article is interesting enough to continue reading.
Do not like at all… Seems designed to generate clicks, not to better serve your readers…
Don’t like it. Don’t want to have to click the link to see the story
If you want to only provide summaries rather than the entire blog posts on the front page then I guess that’s okay. But the headline format is AW-FUL. But, honestly, what the hell was wrong with the previous “show the full story” format?
If this a ploy for page loads then that is a bad excuse (or, piss-poor if you will).
I need to drink a gallon of Gatorade and then I’ll be back to piss on this some more.
Terrible — Now just a bunch of headlines requiring extra effort click-throughs to get any real information — feels like a lot more work — much better to have at least a couple of paragraphs of text to read before having to click for more.
Why mess with all of this when people loved it the way it was? Looks a lot like change for change’s sake — New Coke.
It is crap. Stop it and revert back to the old one. Just too many clicks to get to what I want to read. Thanks!
Dont like the new format at all
I really dislike this new format. It’s obvious you’re just trying to get more clicks on your page to pump in advertising dollars. At least put a few sentences under each story if you’re going to do this.
Much prefer the old format — more information with less click throughs.
Please go back to old format. Thank you.
inconvenient, takes longer to read the site…
I like it. It would be even better if each story had a Collapse/Expand button by the title.
The only caveat to this style is that the headers now have to be overly specific and clear; people may pass over a story with a vague, teasing/mysterious or puzzling title.
Not a big fan of seeing just the headlines. Having to click on every single link to read even part of the story is very annoying. I actually stopped reading entertainment news at IMDB for that very reason.
It sucks.
I get you’re trying to save space but I don’t wanna click blindly – Fox Re-Ups Comedy guy – would help to know who it is before clicking. Maybe the first 5 lines of the story so we can know if we want to read more?
thx!
Woah, this format sucks. I won’t click on another link, to bring up another page, just to read another news blurb, I will find my news where it is repurposed somewhere else. Maybe if you showed the first paragraph, and then click to “read more”, but this is not user friendly at all (sure to bump up your page views though)
I hate this new format
If you’re going to a lineup of headlines — please put the lead paragraph with it.
It’s convenient to see the whole range of stories, come back later to read all of the ones I want to read.
Thanks. Keep up the great work.
Can we at least get something above the fold to determine if we want to read through? Even if it’s just a line or two beneath the headline it would be better then nothing.
