UPDATE: Sony Pictures Entertainment is acquiring distribution rights on the movie for Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films which has been developing and is producing. This puts director Ruben Fleischer back into business with Columbia Pictures and co-prexy Matt Tolmach, who was heavily involved in Zombieland and the sequel they are developing. Matthew Sullivan & Michael Diliberti wrote 30 Minutes Or Less. Those who picked up my original break note that the script made The Black List and is about a pizza guy on a caper. (The filmmakers had hoped to keep the logline a secret. Fat chance in the age of the Internet.)
PREVIOUS: After making a rousing directing debut in Zombieland, Ruben Fleischer has been courted for several projects. While his name has been mentioned to direct Tom Cruise In Mission: Impossible IV, I’m told he’s serious about the Media Rights Capital film 30 Minutes Or Less. Fleischer just had a meeting with actor Danny McBride who’s wanted for the part, and things have gotten very serious. Summer is a possibility, as McBride needs to work the pic in between his schedule on the second season of East Bound & Down for HBO. McBride most recently wrapped Your Highness for Universal.

Great news for a solid up and coming director. Zombieland did live up the hype, which is hard to pull off these days.
what a great fit!!!
Diliberti & Sullivan: hottest scribes in town!!! EN FUEGO.
Diliberti = Genius. Sullivan = Also a genius. Love reading these two dudes scripts, but even more so, I love reading about their success!! BARK BARK ! MAH DAWGS!
BALLS OUT got twice as many Black List votes, yet still we get no love.
We should’ve ditched Calof and Khamoui last year to make room for Mike. And Matt, what a waste over there in Marathon. Lesher and his disciples will rule this town yet.
You’ve got real balls to trash on Calof and Khamoui, two amazingly smart, well-read and ambitious execs. You probably should rethink your comment “smokebreakevans.”
I have no problem whatsoever with either of these guys and I fully concur with your accolades. I’m just saying, if they’re being kicked to the curb, despite their many qualities, we should’ve secured some suitable replacements when we had the chance. Rephrase, maybe. “Rethink”, never.
Hey “smokebreak”- I wouldn’t be so cavalier when discussing peoples livelihoods, these are people with families and bills to pay. And if you don’t “rethink” your alias, I may have to dig a little deeper to see who you really are.
