On the heels of a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nomination for An Education, Nick Hornby has signed with WME. It's the first time the British writer has had a U.S. agent. WME will work on film and TV opportunities with U.K.-based Jenne Casarotto. Caroline Dawnay at United Agents makes Hornby's book deals.
Hornby’s books have long been catnip for filmmakers. Fever Pitch, High Fidelity and About A Boy have been turned into films, and A Long Way Down is being developed at Warner Bros. Hornby’s latest is Juliet, Naked.
he is such a great writer!
What a coup for WME – love Nick Hornby and will be great material to package with their clients.
Seeing as how his books keep turning into movies, what took the agencies so long?
Who’s making Juliet Naked into a film? Cast Johnny Depp now…
Met him at Book Soup when he popped in one day. Super nice guy. Wish him continued success.
