I’m told Lionsgate has firmed John Singleton to direct Taylor Lautner in Abduction, the Shawn Christensen-scripted thriller that was bought at auction in January. Production will begin July in Pittsburgh. This firms Lautner’s next film, which he’ll shoot before returning for the final two Twilight installments. He plays a youth who discovers the parents who raised him aren’t his real folks, a revelation that triggers events and leaves him running for his life.

Omi, he is just sooooooooo dreamy…. And so is Taylor!
This is good pairing. Singleton can be great. Although I think Christensen’s script Sidney Hall sounds the most promising to become a good film, Abduction and the awful sounding The Karma Collection sound typical end of the world garbage.
So this guy stole the plot of ‘Little Nikita’ with River Phoenix and now uber-hack John Singleton is directing it? Sweet.
You mean the 2 time Academy Award nominated hack? Seriously ?
With both “Remember Me” and “The Runaways” looking little itty bitty blips on the radar, how haven’t studios figured out that none of these kids are profitable outside their Twilight garbage? Especially Lautner.
really how can u say taylor isnt profitable outside twilight he hasnt starred on his own in a movie outside twilight yet!!! dont dismiss him before he has shown us what he can do and what he is capable of
i think he will surprise us all
Did you see any of their movies or are you just saying things because you can ? If you don’t like their movies don’t watch them then. But if you have a comment you must have seen them so make up your mind are their movies garbage or deep down you really do like their so called garbage. They are the ones making millions not you or me.
john singleton is a heavy handed director who doesn’t understand nuance. boyz in the hood is his only good movie. and he got a lot of help w/it.
Hustle and Flow he basically directed, that was good also
the 2011 razzie race has just begun!
While I’m not sold on Lautner, Singleton’s a solid director. I’ll admit it. I liked Four Brothers. I mean, at the end of the day, not every film has to be The Hurt Locker. As for the whole Little Nikita thing… that movie didn’t even make $2MM so I say it’s free game to try and get the story right. The Girl Next Door is Risky Business. Doesn’t mean The Girl Next Door’s not a good movie. Speed is Die Hard on a bus. Speed’s still a good movie. Know what I’m saying? Let’s judge the movie, not our idea of what the movie’s going to be.
No shirtless Lautner photo to accompany this article? For shame!
