42West announced today the appointment of veteran music publicist Dvora Vener Englefield to head a newly created music department within the firm’s Talent Division. The flack who has repped some of the biggest names in the music industry will be joined by publicist Lisa Taylor and both will be based in 42West’s Los Angeles office. “Although we have long represented a wide variety of recording artists, we’ve always wanted to have a department devoted solely to music,” said 42 West founder Leslee Dart. “What made it possible for us to finally take this step was finding an executive of Dvora’s caliber to lead this initiative.” Englefield was a SVP at B|W|R where she created and ran the music department. Her clients included Christina Aguilera, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Neil Diamond, Ziggy Marley, Alanis Morissette, Motley Crue and Prince among others. She also launched and repped American Idol for the show’s first 4 seasons. UPDATE: Both women left B|W|R about a year ago.

BWR is hurting. Two huge exits in two months? Ouch.
that team is a PR Powerhouse….BWR lost out…big time. Well done ladies. Well done!
Dvora left BWR years ago.
Music PR veteran? Didn’t she do music for about 7 years? And only take on known acts? She has never broke a music act. Powerhouse? wow, did anyone let the music industry know?
“powerhouse” is a much overused word when describing publicists. think the same word was used to reference PMK + HBH, which of course imploded. smoke and mirrors baby!
She doesn’t represent MOST of those clients anymore. Nikki – who are the actual clients going with her to 42W?
