Is 200,000 really that much of an increase considering how much the fan base has grown? I would have expected a much bigger number. Many fans were pissed at the fact that there were too many extras spread out amongst the different DVD’s available making them have to buy more than one. I doubt 4 million people bought those dvd’s more likely 2 million people who had to buy 2 different copies to get everything they wanted. Not really that great a number when you think of sales in those terms.
I thought that too. NM opening smashed Twilight`s, but DVD sales made only $200,000 more? Very weird. maybe they reported the wrong number. I can`t believe that demand for DVD flatlined instead of making a substantial increase.
People love shit.
Pretty scary to think that youth is our future…
don’t blame youth when its adults who market to them.
I’m a very big fan! I started watching Twilight and of course from there I had to go out and I buy the books. I haven’t put the books down and now I cant stop watching the movies. I’m very excited to see Eclipse, but I think Breaking Dawn will be the best of them all. At least I hope!
I would say that having 6 different versions of the DVD out there did the trick.
People bought sometimes 2 different versions of it just becuase they had different special features.
Oh well, I hope Summit will use this money to make ot buy good movies, like The Hurt Locker or Remember Me. Otherwise its just a waste.
Summit knows aready that whatever they do with this franchise, good or bad, they will make a shitload of money.
youve gotta think why its made more money than twilight
what was in new moon that was lacking in twilight
EDWARDS ABSENCE
these sales are telling us edward should be abscent from all the movies and every movie will be more succesful than its predecessor
pattinsons performance was abysmal in the movie I watched new moon on dvd again and edward was not needed in that movie!!!!!
i hope they give taylor lautner the same kind of coverage they did on new moon if they want the same results for eclipse…. thats all im gonna say
Gaga, I hate to break it to you, but Edward is the main draw for Twilight fans. Bella ends up marrying him in Breaking Dawn, and having his baby. Sorry!!
New Moon gave the young fans what they wanted, more Jacob, and they were smart enough to put in enough Edward to get me to buy the DVD.
We can’t wait for Eclipse.
The only men I see in that photo are the ones trying to hold back that throng of unattractive women.
How… unique. I wonder why one would put a by-line atop a press release? Do contemporary journalism schools spend a unit or two on how to check the fax machine, or how to open a PDF sent via e-mail?
And how interesting that absolutely no one seems to have noticed and commented on this… or at least such comments have not been published.
Twilight vs New Moon – there is no comparison, Twilight is by far better in every way. They should have stayed with the same director cause the guy who directed New Moon was horrible. Just a few examples, the music in Twilight was fantastic, it didn’t sound like a continious pop album, such as in New Moon. And the grossly enormous werewolves in New Moon were ridiculous. And what was up with the incredibly short flight from Forks to Italy? the plane takes off, they are in the air and then they are landing in Italy? They could have extended the flight time by just a little more, considering the distance from Forks to Italy. Twilight was a far better movie.
Well this is interesting. It is funny because I don’t even check stores like that. I use http://www.filmcrave.com/dvd_new.php for new DVDs. Why waste going to the store.
