gauldingEXCLUSIVE: Shannon Gaulding, the Screen Gems senior vice president who was the liason between that Sony-based company and Relativity Media on Dear John, has jumped to Relativity. She takes the same title. Gaulding had been at Screen Gems for 3 years, working on such projects as Legion. Before that, she was a creative exec at Sony Pictures, and worked on films that included The Grudge, 30 Days of Night, Something’s Gotta Give, Zathura and the three Spider-Man films. She came from the music biz.

Gaulding’s move was confirmed by Screen Gems and Relativity, both of which issued statements.

“Shannon’s extensive background as an executive, her creative taste and her hands on production experience are a perfect combination for Relativity and exactly what we were looking for,” said Relativity’s Tucker Tooley.

Said Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper: “Shannon is a fantastic executive and while we asked her to stay, we understand her desire to take this new opportunity. We will miss her and know she will continue to rally behind and champion great films and filmmakers.”
