EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that WME just took away client Archie Comics from CAA. (“This is like Hasbro. CAA had Hasbro, and did nothing. And then CAA lost Hasbro to WME,” an insider tells me.) WME now also is representing the rights to The Terminator franchise on behalf of Santa Barbara-based hedge fund Pacifor LLC which had the winning $29.5 million bid, and a commitment of $5 million for each of three produced films. That deal was approved by the Los Angeles Bankruptcy judge.

Hilarious- Archie has already been shopped all over town and TURNED DOWN- so what is going to happen? A bidding war for the Jughead movie?
CAA needs to step up. They have great clients, they just have to DO something with them!
hey, what’s with the weird facelifts they gave Archie and Betty and Veronica – I looked at them while paying for laxatives and Pall Malls at SavOn on Sunset and Fairfax and the kids looked embalmed, lifted, pulled and TWEAKED.
Nikki, Nikki, Nikki. CAA were the ones who laid the groundwork for Transformers as well as GI Joe getting made and did a lot of the legwork – hardly doing nothing. Comparing Hasbro to Archie comics seems fair.
CAA didn’t do anything for a client? No? No way??? I just was curious, what exactly do agents do. They don’t return phone calls, they don’t really get big deals for clients, they don’t respond to offers, out of 15-20 clients each they handle they can only really focus on a few at a time. I mean why is everyone believing the hype that CAA is some powerful agency. Where is the power? The L.A. County electrical outlets? And the new and younger agents at CAA are like brainwashed zombies who wouldn’t know a good deal from a coke deal. So hopefully WME and others will take note and kick the deathstar to another galaxy–
“CAA had hasbro and did nothing.” you mean Transformers?
At last, the multi million dollar JUGHEAD film can be made. (Although, let’s be honest, there’s more legitimite story material there than in any Hasbro franchise… )
Maybe they can cut that tool Reggie. Everyone knows Veronica and Jug Head are the stars of this little show.
That’s really great. Now McG will direct another lame episode and Ari will some dumb money and they’ll try and sell it to a studio and nobody will buy it. These people are so creatively bankrupt.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
