Disney XD has picked up freshman I’m In The Band for a 2nd season. The live-action multi-camera comedy series about a teenager (Logan Miller) who joins his favorite “vintage” rock band, was created by Michael B. Kaplan and Ron Rappaport and is executive produced by Kaplan and Richard Gurman. It launched in February with as Disney XD’s top series premiere in total viewers.

Disney XD has been a failure in attracting boys. It HAS seen growth … in girls.
Music is “gay” (because of American Idol and tween girl Disney pop princesses and “Glee” and a zillion other things). If Disney XD wanted boys they’d have stuff about superheroes, firefighters, race car drivers, secret agents, and stuff boys ACTUALLY LIKE. Rather than a pale Xerox of the Disney Pop Princess fantasy. Girls want Pop Princess fame fantasies. Boys “manly achievement” fantasies which are not the same.
@Whiskey — My two sons love playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band. This show – which is funnier than most kids shows I’ve seen – seems to strike at the heart of that. It’s not a pop music show like other Disney shows, it’s rock music & stupid/idiot rocker comedy, which boys (at least mine) seem to love.
Yes I’m so glad this show is coming back I love I’m in the band it I so funny and plus I’m a musician myself I play guitar so it’s really nice to watch a show I can relate to

I’m a mom with a 7 yr old boy so forced to suffer through all the odious pop kiddie shows. Finally Disney came out with a show I can watch without muttering curses under my breath.
Now if only something could be done about Chuckie Cheese, that no talent rat.

My boys are 6 and 8 and they love this show they both want to be Rock Stars now when they grow up and the music is rockin keep this show on.
I Love I’m in The Band So Much and I Want to keep on watching it on my TV in My Bed room. I really Love to Meet The Cast Someday. I hope They Make a sound track album.Iron Weasel is so Cool. They rock. I love rock Music.
Why is the best thing to happen to rock and roll since the Stones a fake band?? Yes the songs are largely meant to be humorous (farts, girls with disgusting names, etc.) but just as “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Brown Sugar” are classics of rock, “Got No Class” and “Smells Like Fun” should be, as well – to name just two!
What kills me, is the kid already plays (watch his hands, he’s accurate to a tee & could be the actual recorded guitarist for all I know), Baker & Full – if they don’t really play – COULD be trained a la Micky Dolenz, but unless Steve Valentine already has the incredible vocal range…we’ll never see Iron Weasel on tour!
I discovered this show while babysitting my brother and sister while they were watching Family, and I have to say, I LOVE it. It’s original, all the characters are likeable, my favourite being the perpetually fabulous Derek, and it’s unlike anything Disney has come up with thus far. I’m really looking forward to the second season. <3
I hope this show stays on for a long time. Finally a Disney show I can watch with my boys without wanting to pull my hair out. My boys absolutely love this show and I don’t care to admit I do too. Great job Disney, keep this show on! It has even inspired my kids to pursue music lessons. One is working very hard at the drums and the other is into keyboard and guitar. Finally a show that inspires creativity and ambition. Don’t let it go off the air.
I am completely bummed!! I heard that I’m in the Band was cancelled. The second season was not as good as the first, but I wish they would give it another chance. There was finally a show on Disney that I liked. I think maybe this show is geared more toward adults and its a shame that it was on Disney. It may have had a chance on regular network tv. The characters are fantastic!! I will miss it!!
