Well, at least the political culture. Below is from today’s Boston Herald (and doesn’t reflect my own point of view…) Anyway, the Lionsgate pic is expected to do $30+M this weekend, with Sony/Screen Gems’ Death At A Funeral predicted as low as $12M and as high as $20M. As usual, I’ll post first box office tonight:

Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Wow, hilarious cartoon…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Boston Herald in the same sentence as “popular” and “culture”
Kick-Ass has been a part of popular culture for well over 13 years… just sayin’… more appropriate title would be newspapers finally pick up on it.
“Nah, we’ll keep clinging to our Constitution and our guns and religion — and you can keep the change.” -SP
Anyone who believes in any of those 3 things should be offended she put them in the same sentence.
Fat, bald, old and irritable- a typical Teabagger.
Saw Kick-Ass last night. I haven’t had that much fun at the movies in years. It’s as if The Incredibles fucked Superbad.
Will be very interesting to see how this performs. Conventional Hollywood wisdom has long held that you can’t have an R rated film starring kids and succeed broadly at the box office.
Perhaps another page is about to be torn from the studio’s rule book…
Just saw it. Best movie of 2010 so far. Amazing.
So should Lionsgate be marketing more to women for a $50MM opening Nikki?
Just saw this. KICK ASS is seriously entertaining! Hey, it’s actually worth the 10 bucks.
BTW, the political cartoon you posted — perfectly reflects my POV.
You’re brave to have included it!
Great, see you at 55 million.
Best movie I’ve seen in years. A very pleasant surprise!
