OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has added another new unscripted series to its primetime lineup: Inside Rehab. The 8-episode hourlong docu-series, from Harpo Studios and Tijuana Entertainment’s Troy Searer and John Foy (Obsessed), follows eating disorder patients at a treatment facility as they undergo an intensive 42-day recovery program. The announcement comes a day after E! said it has ordered “What’s Eating You?,” a six-episode docu-series about eating disorders to air in the fall. OWN is set to launch in January.

This is horrible. It shows that Oprah will go to the very bottom of a person’s soul, as long as she experiences financial gain. She is a female pimp. She is making a living off of someone’s misfortune. This is despicable. .
Are you insane? Is this what you would have said about alcoholics and other substance abusers? Eating disorders are ENCOURAGED by the lobbyists for McDonand’s and Frito-Lay and why this horrible disease is being allowed to continue in this country because big business is making money off these substance abusers! Shame on you for thinking Oprah is the mercenary!
will oprah be the star?
I agree. This is just another form of humiliation television. So far, nothing inspiring or cool airing on that network.
Great idea, let’s continue to glamorize and reward anorexia and bulimia. Because we don’t get enough of that in tabloids, magazines, etc etc etc…
The whole concept makes me want to barf. Oh, wait…
Wow..you have all missed the mark on this one. First of all Operah herself has had a lifelong issue with dieting and weight. This series is trying to bring to light an issue that many, many americans are dealing with and often in silence. Operah has enough money..she is not diong this for money but for those with eating disorders to be helped and feel more understood. Anorexia and bulimia are mental illnesses riggered by enviornmental pressures to be thin. It is not glamorizing or rewarding or humiliating. It is bringing something into light that really needs to be addressed.
