EXCLUSIVE: I hear Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake Harper, aka the “half” on CBS’ Two and a Half Men, is finalizing a deal with producing studio Warner Bros TV to continue on the hit comedy for two more seasons. Men is one season into a 3-year renewal from CBS. The 16-year-old Jones, of course, is one of two Men actors whose contracts expired at end of this season, along with star Charlie Sheen. Sheen’s team and WBTV are talking but I hear little progress has been made, with the two sides still apart on the money. It looks more and more like an agreement won’t be reached until Tuesday night, just a few hours before CBS will unveil its fall schedule at Black Rock on Wednesday morning.

My thoughts exactly. No offense to the kid, but was he going to stage a holdout which certainly would’ve been met with laughter? He’s great on the show but…well…anyways…
I find it comical when people complain about the millions Wall Street types make, but no one has a problem that this kid makes a quarter of a million dollars an episode?

The kid is part of the reason the show will sell for HUNDREDS of millions of dollars when the complete series (after two more seasons) goes into syndication. If your work contributes 300 million to Warner Brothers coffers, don’t you think the kid deserves 5 million for each season? That’s just a little over 3%.
Besides, when the series ends, what’s he going to do? He is not that good an actor, he will be 18 and through. He will never make this kind of money again. So if he lives to be 70, he could only spend $200,000 a year. We all know that it is almost impossible to make it on only $200,000 a year.
Are you kidding me??? Any normal person could easily survive on 200,000 a year. How do you think everyday americans are surviving on 200,000 a year. Soldiers, pharmacists, doctors even lawyers dont make 200,000 a year but they still survive with it. Your comment is 100% false.
Yeah. Try the $14,000 a year a lot of the rest of us are making. For me it’s an improvement and am able to give stuff back to charity again. On the other hand, I don’t begrudge anyone making that kind of money honestly, especially if they end up sharing or giving back. Who knows.

(this is for the character, not the actor. tho i dont find him very talented)

And Fred, let’s not count the kid out already. Not every sitcom kid washes out. Probable? yes but not a certainty.
Good for the kid, he’s earned a living already. Best of all, he’ll have a college nest egg so he won’t be saddled with loans.
The HELL with Charlie Sheen…there are at least a half dozen actors that can play his part and perhaps even better and funnier than he…it is NOT all about Charlie Sheen…time to pull the plug on the money supplying his addictions and move on.
I totally understand where you are coming from, but as someone who loves this show (I don’t get out much) and have, at this point, seen almost every episode (I’m seeking help), I couldn’t disagree more. In theory, anyone can play anyone’s part and we can site popular examples of successes and failures going back to BEWITCHED, but I just don’t see a positive core audience response to replacing any one of this cast and especially so of Ma-sheen and Cryer.
My biased two cents. And as an admitted addict of the show, I’m sure my opinion will be valued at no more…

Walt, the show is Charlie Sheen. It was designed with Charlie Sheen in mind. Charlie Harper is Charlie Sheen. The chemistry is between Charlie, Alan, Jake, Conchata, and Mom. And well, Rose. If you think these elements can be subtracted, then you don’t really watch the show.
When are they going to change the title of this show to 3 Men? Angus is twice the size of Jon Cryer now.
Since he’s 16, they should just bump him up as one of the “men”, and bring in little cousin “Timmy” for the “half” role.
You know, the cousin character on a sitcom that had NEVER been mentioned before, who suddenly shows up?
I really do not think the show would be the same withot all three stars! The golden girls was never as good without Bea ARTHER.
I think Angus is worth every cent and then some. He’s my favorite on the show, with Holland Taylor close behind.
No matter how much we love to hate on Sheen, he isn’t replaceable on this series.
“The kid” actually makes the show when he is on it. Charlie Sheen’s part has become so raunchy, that I and many of my friends have stopped watching it. They should rename the show, One Man and a Half Plus a Pig.
I’m sorry, but if “the kid” Jake wouldn’t be on the show. This show would be only about two man, one who gets ladies and parties all the time and another who doesn’t get any ladies and is idiot. Really you would watch that? Remember the episode where Alan and Jake moved away, and Charlies home was a big big mess and party all night long. That would be your all show.

well he better save up the cash because his parents sold him out at 4 years old-they basically pimped him out to the highest bidder to be the geeky fat kid-so he has spent his whole childhood playing the part of the geeky fat kid on TV-what kinda of career do you think he will have after this sit com gig is over?? this boy is doomed by his sell-out parents to end up like Bonadueche-the poor kid probably believes all the jackasses at the show who tell him that it is his acting and not his looks that are getting the laughs-people laugh at this kid because he is a fat geek and the show plays that up to the hilt-exploiting the kid -making him look geekier every year to get more laughs on the show-I sure he would have grown out of the fat and the geekiness if he had a normal childhood and not made to “stay in character” his entire childhood-this is child abuse for ratings
Angus has lost his baby fat and is looking pretty good. He looks like any normal teenager. As far as his career, even Angus says he most likely wont continue acting after Men. Compared to most child stars, I think he has a good head on his shoulders and should do just fine. Now that Men is cancelled for the season, he can get on with school and enjoy being a 17 year old.
Ok, ponder on this…Charlie Harper goes down to Mexico and lives it up. To take his place his cousin Amilio…Amiio Esteves, is asked by charlie to watch over his things while he is gone. Amilio is not a jingle writer, but a advertising person. A womanizer, but not a drinker. Whether Charlie comes back or not? eeeehhhh. Amilio Esteves would be a wonderful adition to the family.
Obviously, the people commenting on here about how he doesn’t contribute to the show don’t have a 17 year old teenager because he is pretty true to form and hilarious. He is a great actor and I wish him the best.
