Sources close to Charlie Sheen’s negotiations with Warner Bros. TV are “cautiously optimistic” that the 
two sides will be able to come to terms on a new deal that would keep the star on CBS’ hit Two and a Half Men for two more seasons, matching the length of actor’s contract with the length of CBS’ pickup for the show. Indications are that both sides want to make a deal. There is another sign that, despite declaring publicly that he is ready to leave Men and move on with his life, Sheen seems keen on returning to the show. TMZ is reporting that the actor’s lawyers are deep in plea negotiations with Aspen prosecutors with the goal to make a plea deal and settle his legal problems before CBS’ upfront presentation on May 19.

Who cares? CBS needs to keep the only top-ten comedy on the air, granted. But Sheen is a douchebag personally, and the show is nothing more than one long dick joke (pun intended). Let him go wallow in his millions and we’ll see him in the tabloids for evermore, wrecking his own train and hanging out with every hooker who’ll let him park his car in her garage.
Please – can we get some decent television comedy? Anyone?
“Decent television comedy” became an oxymoron when Designing Women went off the air. I’ve tried to watch some of these shows but let’s face it; most of them are nothing more than the leads performing the same schtick every episode.

Charlie needs to be thrown off tv NOT saved – He needs rehab of the worst kind after everything he’s done, the last thing he needs is to be a star.
I think what I liked mostly about Charlie Sheen was that even though he’s was going through this much with his life, that he would hold a show so well, and had a lot of credit from people stating his professional abilities were more out standing in his approach to be in character and have a fine quality to bring off a flawless nature, give him that I think so many people have a personal life that will totally go in the way of any career,
Charlie reminds me of John Barrymore (although long before my time, I’ve always been a fan). He plays himself, a semi-drunk reprobate, sex-addicted narcissist. His personal demons have destroyed his real life, and he will never recover.
A great talent, nevertheless. “2.5 Men” ranks up in the top three of creative, drop-dead funny, engaging TV entertainment, along with the 1970′s “Soap” and 1990′s “Seinfeld” episodes. The supporting cast is equally superb. Top form entertainment, and a true reflection of the Left Coast Culture.
