BBC America is venturing into original entertainment programming with a 10-episode order to a U.S. version of Come Dine With Me, a reality competition cooking show from ITV Studios. The show, about amateur chefs competing for the title of the ultimate dinner party, will also be broadcast internationally on BBC Worldwide’s channel brands. Additionally, BBC America has acquired the original U.K. version of Come Dine from ITV Studios, which will begin airing on July 7. BBC America has been producing a U.S.-based newscast for the past few years but its entertainment lineup consists mainly of reruns of British and U.S. series, including Dr. Who, Peep Show and Star Trek: The Next Generation. That will probably change as the channel seems to be stepping up original production. Last week, BBC America announced it will co-produce new high concept drama Outcasts.

Please get rid of all the news and give us quality BBC programming. This net needs an identity.
Agreed. It’s BBC America, I identify it by the BBC part and not the “America” part. I want British programming on this channel that I can watch in America. Give me some top-notch serials (I’ll accept older programming; hell, repeating the original “State of Play” would be better than virtually all US network programming) that are quintessentially British/BBC. Love “Doctor Who”, glad it’s there, but more importing of shows would be much preferred than trying to “Americanize” the channel. I watch BBC America because I want BBC programming, not something that I could find on any US network or cable channel (not to mention BBC America has already done this route enough with Gordon Ramsay practically being the face of the network as it is).
Exactly! I am in agreement. I am British and was expecting some good British T.V. Ramsey series are as old as the hills and repeat after repeat! Give us what we expect.
Come Dine with Me is one of the most hilarious British factual entertainment shows. It is perfect as it is, do not touch it, otherwise it will be another “Wife Swap USA” catastrophe.
I agree, come dine with me is great. but why did they takr it of the air? Just all of the sudden it was gone called cable (CHARTER) was told i’m supposed to get on line and go somewhere????? to let someone know
how i feel about all the funny shows being taken off the air.WHO THE heck are these people?? ANY IDEAS.
