Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern will finance a feature transfer of the Oscar-winning documentary Freeheld, with Ron Nyswaner adapting, and Ellen Page attached to star. The docu told the true story of New Jersey car mechanic Stacie Andree, and her police detective girlfriend Laurel Hester. The core of the doc was their struggle to secure pension benefits after Hester was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Their battles with local pols exposed corruption and inherent bigotry. Page will play Andree. Endgame will produce with Double Feature Films partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, Vie Entertainment’s Kelly Bush and Cynthia Wade.
Nyswaner won an Oscar nomination for writing Philadelphia. Page next stars with Leonardo DiCaprio in the Christopher Nolan-directed Inception. Endgame most recently completed production on the Nicolas Cage-starrer The Hungry Rabbit Jumps.

This young lady is so talented. How can you go wrong! Congrats.
Agreed, Damian. I adore her, have seen about 10 of her films and have her latest one (Peacock, recently out on DVD) being Netflixed to me as I type!
Jim Stern is kind of an unsettling guy. He withholds fees and fires people on a whim. Very strange dude who has been able to function below the radar as no journalist or union has looked into his ongoing business habits. They are too exhausted and underpaid. Talented and nice people beware.
Are you talking about Bob Yari? Have worked with Jim as has my partner and he and his entire team have always been a pleasure and paid in full!
Nice to see Ellen Page sticking with the same character type she always plays. No need for her to go out of her comfort zone for this film. She’s a horrible actress, but that never hurt anyone. Jennifer Anniston and Jennifer Lopez are still working. Good luck on putting us to sleep Ms. Page.
You clearly haven’t seen her less mainstream films. Hard Candy being my favorite example. Besides, at this point in her career, it makes sense for her to play teen characters, who are known for traits like rebelliousness, sarcasm, and finding their own way in the world, hence why Juno (Juno) and Bliss (Whip It) are similar. Just film-stalk her like I have and you’ll know that she’s played roles most actors and actresses don’t have the dedication or balls to do.
Jennifer Anniston has the daddy, Jennifer Lopez has the body….Ellen Page has TALENT and commitment! I started liking her after roles in Genesis and Trailer Park Boys, both Canadian productions. For me, it was like watching Jody Foster when she was younger. I think this girl will go far because she also has vision, determination and is also very involved in sustainability issues. She has a social conscience!!! Which is more than I can say for 90% of actors out there.

Maybe you should watch Hard Candy and An American Crime before you make ridiculous statements like that.
I’m really excited for this film Ellen is one of he most talented actresses of our generation. Please do not put her in a one type role sterotype. For people whom think that she only plays generic teenage roles please check out mouth to mouth, Hard Candy, and An American Crime. She is amazing!
Ellen page is the only actress I can think of that has a brain, talent and beauty all in one package. Watch her films, listen to her in interviews and check out her social media. Then judge. She’s outstanding. She blows my mind.
