$#*! MY DAD SAYS, based on the popular Twitter feed by Justin Halpern, stars Emmy Award winner William Shatner as Ed Goodson, a forthright and opinionated dad who relishes expressing his unsolicited and often wildly politically incorrect observations to anyone within earshot. Nobody is immune from Ed’s rants, including his sons, Henry, a struggling writer-turned-unpaid blogger; and Vince (Will Sasso), the meek half of his husband/wife real estate duo with domineering Kathleen (Nicole Sullivan). When Henry finds he can no longer afford to pay rent to his pretty roommate — and secret admirer — Sam (Stephanie Lemelin), Ed reveals a soft spot and invites Henry to move in with him. Henry agrees, knowing that the verbal assault will not abate and now there will be no escape. Describing their father/son relationship is tricky – but Ed will easily come up with a few choice words. Emmy Award winners David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television. Emmy Award winner James Burrows directed.
MIKE & MOLLY is a comedy from Chuck Lorre (“Two and a Half Men,” and “The Big Bang Theory”) about a working class Chicago couple who find love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting. Officer Mike Biggs (Billy Gardell) is a good-hearted cop who sincerely wants to lose weight. Mike’s partner, Officer Carl McMillan (Reno Wilson), is a thin, fast-talking wise-guy, who despite his teasing encourages Mike on his road to slimness and romance. While speaking at an O.A. meeting, Mike meets Molly Flynn (Melissa McCarthy), an instantly likeable fourth-grade teacher with a healthy sense of humor about her curves. For Molly, focusing on smart choices isn’t easy because she lives with her sexy older sister, Victoria (Katy Mixon), and their mother, Joyce (Swoosie Kurtz), both of whom flaunt their healthy appetites and slender figures. Mike also faces temptation at the diner he and Carl frequent, where they’ve become friends with the Senegalese waiter, Samuel (Nyambi Nyambi), who finds trying to eat less a foreign concept. For Mike and Molly, thanks to their mutual love of pie and the desire to resist it, finding each other may have been worth the “weight.” Chuck Lorre and Mark Roberts are executive producers for Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The new dramas are:
HAWAII FIVE-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about a new elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin), a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father’s murder and stays after Hawaii’s governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket immunity to hunt down the biggest “game” in town. Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan), a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline but is committed to keeping the Islands safe for his 8-year-old daughter; and Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), an ex-Honolulu Police Detective wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol, who is also a former protégé of McGarrett’s father. Chin’s cousin, Kono (Grace Park), is a beautiful and fearless native, fresh out of the academy and eager to establish herself among the department’s elite. McGarrett vows to bring closure to his father’s case while the state’s brash new FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, is determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state. Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.
THE DEFENDERS stars Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell in a comedic drama about two colorful Las Vegas defense attorneys who go all-in when it comes to representing their clients. Nick and Pete are the local go-to guys with an eclectic client list who are still looking to hit their own jackpot. Leading the law firm of Morelli & Kaczmarek are Nick Morelli (Belushi), an earnest, hard-charging attorney who represents his clients to the best of his ability, no matter how big or small the case, and his partner, Pete Kaczmarek (O’Connell), whose passion for the law is matched only by his love of fast cars, beautiful women and expensive clothes. Joining them in their growing law practice is new associate Lisa Tyler (Jurnee Smollett), an enthusiastic young attorney looking to put her exotic dancing days behind her; and their young assistant, Sophie (Tanya Fischer), a spunky and sweet ingénue who is eager to please her bosses. As Lady Luck shines on their legal careers, the partners have their hands full when it comes to their personal lives. While Pete is busy cruising the Vegas Strip for his latest romantic conquest, Nick is focused on repairing his fractured marriage to his estranged wife, Jessica (Gillian Vigman), while remaining present in the life of their young son. No matter the offense, Nick and Pete aim to prove that when the stakes are high they’re willing to bet the house on the clients they defend in Sin City. Carol Mendelsohn, Niels Mueller and Kevin Kennedy, Joe and Harry Gantz, and Davis Guggenheim are the executive producers for CBS Television Studios.
BLUE BLOODS is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the New York Chief of Police and patriarch of the Reagan brood, which he heads as diplomatically as he does the force, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry (Len Cariou), during his stint as Chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), a seasoned detective, family man and Iraqi War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases. The sole Reagan woman in the family, Erin (Bridget Moynahan), is a N.Y. Assistant D.A. and newly single parent, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. Jamie (Will Estes) is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family’s “golden boy.” However, unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a newly minted cop, a career change seemingly supported by his beautiful girlfriend, Sydney Davenport (Dylan Moore), a first year lawyer. Jamie’s life takes an abrupt turn, however, when he’s asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation even his father knows nothing about, and one that could impact the family’s legacy. Emmy Award winners Mitchell Burgess, Robin Green and Leonard Goldberg are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.
Midseason series:
CRIMINAL MINDS SPINOFF stars Forest Whitaker in a drama about an elite team of agents within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit who use unconventional methods of investigation and aggressive tactics to capture the nation’s most nefarious criminals. Unit chief Special Agent Sam Cooper (Whitaker) is a mentally and physically fierce natural leader who is not afraid to put his career on the line in order to stand by his convictions. Cooper strives to avoid political bureaucracy and has handpicked an eclectic group of profilers to work outside the confines of Quantico: Former British Special Forces soldier Mick Rawson (Matt Ryan), confident and handsome, works as a highly-skilled marksman with an undiluted eye for rooting out evil; John “Prophet” Sims (Michael Kelly), a former convict with a street-smart edge and a calm, Zen-like presence, who is determined to make amends for past sins; and Gina LaSalle (Beau Garrett), an attractive, tough agent armed with a cunning sense of perception. This exceptional group of FBI operatives is strong in their beliefs and steadfast in their mission to bring the country’s most dangerous criminals to justice. Chris Mundy, Edward Allen Bernero, Mark Gordon and Deborah Spera are executive producers for ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

Where is the CM spin-off? Or did I imagine that it would be on the Fall schuedule?
According to the press release, it’s midseason.
Hopefully the CM spinoff will see the light of day when Hawaii Five-0 tanks.
And no sign of the CM spin-off. Makes you wonder why they picked it up – no-one liked it.
What is the real, official title of the new WIlliam Shatner show? I have seen “Bleep” written here, “S**t” written elsewhere, and some sites write the word out completely, which I am sure will not fly on TV. Can you please elaborate/confirm this? Thanks.
YEAH MEDIUM is really back!!!
Holy crap, they’re making a play to built a new Thursday night comedy block!!! Take that NBC!!!
If the Big Bank/Shit My Dad Says plant works, I could see CBS adding two more comedies to Thursday the following season, moving Big Bang or SMDS (if it’s a hit) head-to-head with The Office (no more Steve Carell) and Gray’s Anatomy (no more Mer/Der), and moving CSI to 10/9.
I find the fact that there are TWO remakes on this schedule to be terribly disappointing. I hate remakes. CBS should be above NBCing their way through the fall.
Good move with “Survivor” although I am concerned with shifting “Big Bang” to lead off an hour of comedies followed by two hours of dramas. I hope the risk pays off for them.
Why move BIg Bang Theory-it was fine right where it was-now I won’t be able to watch it anymore since it will be opposite Bones and Vampire Diaries-I hope it does worse on Thursdays and they move it back where it belongs!
This is why DVRs were invented.
THE DEFENDERS, HAWAII FIVE-0, $#! MY DAD SAYS will be cancelled by this time next year.
Too many law shows this year. Defenders sounds like the worst one.
James Belushi and Jerry O’Connell in a show together. Really CBS?
Thought the same thing about Defenders (have always thought Belushi was average at best as an actor and below average as a human). But he’s great in it. The show is really good. Who knew.
Well NBC comedies take a hit
Wow. Was not expecting Survivor to move. Also surprised they didn’t swap CSI and The Mentalist. Lastly, somewhat risky for Hawaii if Mike & Molly doesn’t live up to expectations.
Not that surprised actually. The Mentalist is one of the highest rated shows on TV, even on Thursdays. CSI: Miami is getting into the twilight years by now, wouldn’t be surprised if its canceled in the next year or two.
If you had been a follower of SpoilerTV, you’d know that both CSI and CSI: Miami have been renewed for 4 more years. Yes, 4. Not 1, not 2, not even 3, but FOUR. It’s that popular. So CSI: Miami is definately not falling in the ratings nor in popularity.
Surprised about ‘Blue Bloods’ slot on Friday. Isn’t Friday the ‘kiss of death’ night? ‘CSI NY’ will be a flop as will ‘CSI Miami’ , but that won’t be missed. Any word on the mid-season schedule, apart from the Criminal Minds spin-off?
I see CBS as winning Fridays with this line-up.
Friday is only bad if you move a show there (see Las Vegas and Ugly Betty) but if you start a show there (Numbers) you’re better off.
Happy with it. Mondays are great in NBC. I will watch HIMYM, tape Two and a half and watch The Event and Chase in NBC. Not interested in a silly Hawaii remake. Happy it is against Chase that looks amazing!!!
Not sure about the fat people comedy. I may tape it too
@Amy – I’m going the other way on Hawaii 5-0. I think it’ll crush “Chase”.
That’s smart to attack the weak Community. They did the same thing with csi and survivor 10 years ago. They must have given up on comedy Wednesdays.
Exactly. Both Community and 30 rock get pretty crummy ratings. CBS has to figure that they’ll be able to beat them.
very smart to put comdies on thursday. NBC comedies are awful and all this single camera stuff is irritating. These comdies should work and give them an opportunity to add two more on thursday next year in the 9pm hour. after 10 years, there may finally be a real 2hr comedy block back on thursday. CBS basically put NBC out of that business when they developed Survivor and CSI and now that those shows are hitting the wall, they will move in and replace NBC’s must see tv. Very Smart. And great to see mukti-camera, REAL, comedies back on Thursday.
Nellie, you made a small typo.
You wrote 8:30 $#! MY DAD SAYS but its $#*! (you forgot the asterisk)
Wow. Go Friday nights. Now I have to start watching CBS Friday nights for CSI and Blue Bloods.
Any future for Chaos?
Who saw this coming?
CBS hardly changes anything…
And this will be the season where procedurals lose their glitter. Basically there are procedurals left right and center. Castle may benefit slightly airing against 2 new shows.
Survivor has done well on Wednesdays and should have no problem doing well there too. ‘Bang’ will for sure do well thursdays. Though, i bet the same males that watch the NBC shows are the same that watch ‘bang’ too.
I can hardly wait to see the premiere ratings of all the new shows.
So happy CBS decided to keep their Tuesday night shows where they are. Why mess up a good thing!.. cant wait for season 2 of the good wife..
DEFENDERS & A CRMIANL MINDS SPIN OFF… OH CBS, YOU”RE REALLY SWINGING FOR THE FENCES….. FIRE EVERYONE IN DEVELOPMENT !!
what happened to Ghost Whisperer?
Brilliantly played by Les and Kelly. They had more balls than anyone. For all the talk about NBC shaking it up, they are still force feeding America TWO HOURS of a morbidly obese weight loss contest on Tuesdays, with only one new half-hour comedy, and a one hour comedy-dramedy starring two lead characters that were not in the pilot if I’m not mistaken. CBS found a soft spot and they are storming the beach. Big Bang & #%$! will destroy on Thursdays. And Survivor is a great counter to ABC’s comedy on comedies.
Wow, they must really believe in Big Bang Theory to Move it to Thursday Nights.
“…ABC’s comedy on comedies.”
on Wednesdays.
CBS goes for the juggler on Thursday. This could work if they stick it out. Community is hanging on by a thread and Carrell is out next year. With Big ratings Big Bang and the power behind Bleep CBS just might steal Thursday night comedy.
