It is officially Glee‘s year. As the musical dramedy is wrapping up its breakout freshman season, Fox has chosen the show to air after its broadcast of Super Bowl XLV on February 6th. Glee will get another boost in midseason when it will air following the American Idol results show.

Because if there’s one thing football fans love more than sports, it’s musical dramedy. Next up—CBS to follow the Tony Awards with a very special episode of American Chopper!
An odd choice.
Is it just me, or has anyone else found Glee to be a complete embarrassment? Those musical numbers are cringe-making; Fox-Teabag Land’s idea of a Broadway piece…
Really odd choice for that time slot. I wouldn’t think a show that skews towards younger audiences and women would be a good fit for the post Super Bowl show.
Fox’s other viable options were Fringe (would have preferred that), Lie to Me, Bones, or Human Target. Bones is an aging show and the other two were on the bubble for renewal.
Fox is taking a huge risk. I could see it getting really low numbers, even lower than Alias after it got the same time slot. I hope it pays off for them.
