UPDATES NBC Set To Pickup Bruckheimer’s ‘Chase’?
Chase is officially on at NBC for next season. The network on Monday handed the hot procedural from Warner Bros. TV and Jerry Bruckheimer a 13-episode series order. Written by Jennifer Johnson, Chase is a thriller about a team of U.S. marshals hunting most-wanted criminals. Kelli Giddish stars, along with Cole Hauser, Jesse Metcalfe and Amaury Nolasco. Johnson is executive producing with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. KristieAnne Reed is co-executive producing. David Nutter directed and executive produced the pilot, extending his streak to 16 consecutive pilots picked up to series. Chase joins four other pilots already picked up to series by NBC: dramas Undercovers and The Event, anthology dramedy Love Bites and comedy Outsourced. The network also has a new Law & Order series, L&O: LA, on tap for fall.

It’s look like NBC is getting it’s groove back ging with producers with a proven track record.
Also, the fact that David Nutter is directing the pilot means the pilot should be pretty good.
Love it!
3 non-writing EP’s.
1 non-writing Co-EP.
And I assume a room of staff writers? What a money suck…
I am really excited about NBC shows for next season. I want to try all of the shows mentioned in that article. I think NBC is going to do very good next season.
A lot of that can be credited to Jeff Gaspin whose had previous successes at USA and Bravo. In fact, when he was appointed to run NBC last year he told Jeff Zucker that NBC needed to spend more.
From New York Times

“He said that soon after he took up the job, he gave NBC Universal’s chief executive, Jeff Zucker, a simple message:
“We’re going to have to pay.”
“You can only manage through cost cuts for a short period of time,” Mr. Gaspin said. “And we’ve been doing it for five years.”
Completely lacks any character development or story… It’s a shame
Yeah, but it is directed David Nutter. Guy knows how to direct. Just because you didn’t like it doesn’t mean that there are
Having worked with Nutter I can tell you one thing: he can not direct. He gets good scripts and rides on a false reputation which feeds him the good scripts but he couldn’t direct his way out of a paper bag.
Fox’s US Marshall show, Breakout Kings, has ex-fugitives hunting down fugitives with Prison Break writers behind it.
Interesting to see which one makes it a full season, I would give the slight edge to Chase since it just has to have better ratings than Mercy or Trauma.
And Chase has got Prison Break alum Amaury Nolasco; I too want to see how both shows play out.
Love the team behind Chase. Just not the actual script.
Maybe they’ll find the story in the room. NBC hopes…
Kelli Giddish was a bore on “past-life”_didnt work then-wont work now…boring procedural….Nutter shoulda cast someone more interesting…maybe his “Eastwick Gals”-one of them???better actors-guilty pleasure show
Really? Then how come every tv critic who hated the show praised her performance? It’s because she’s a good actress, but was in a bad show. Past Life was truly awful. However, she was good with what she was given.
Kelli Giddish is hilarious on the fantastic web series, The Burg.
LOL – you love “TOLDJA!” I noticed Littleton did her on spin on that the other day. L O L. It’s grown on me now. Wouldn’t be the same website w/out the little TOLDJA coming up occasionally.
Cold Case is one of my must watch shows. It’s well written & never insults my intelegents. It’s nice to know there’s something comming out of a show I could watch with confidence. I’ll be watching for it.Thank You & Happy Trails…….WW.
NBC had a show in the 70′s called “Chase”. It was cops instead of federal marshalls
