Two stars from freshman comedy series, Joel McHale of NBC’s Community and Sofia Vergara of ABC’s Modern Family will announce the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations at 5:30 am PDT on July 8. The actors announcing the nominations traditionally get nominated themselves. Last year, it was Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory and Chandra Wilson of Grey’s Anatomy who read the names and landed noms too. The year before, it was Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth, also both nominees that morning. McHale and Vergara will be joined on the stage of TV Academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood by Academy chairman-CEO John Shaffner. Spike Jones Jr. will produce the Emmy nomination ceremony.

No way in hell is Joel McHale getting nominated. The guy is not an actor and the show sucks.
Mean. Joel McHale is awesome on Community. SCHMITTY!
Tony- Obviously you watch American Idol for Seacrest.
Tony, I’m not buying what you’re selling. Is this just a secret ploy for us to rally to Joel and Community’s defense?
Wow, as good as both have been this season, either one getting nominated would be pretty huge upsets.
I like Joel McHale but the show Community is absolutely horrible. One of the worst shows I’ve seen on TV.
Liar.
People who hate Community are the same people who love Jay Leno and think Miller Lite is a great beer.
Funny. I don’t like Community, Jay Leno, or Miller Lite. I also find it odd that shows expect me to laugh just because they can string pop culture references together using a totally unbelievable premise. My suspension of disbelief can do a lot, but the whole community college for a lying, cheating lawyer platform does not stick.
Community is awesome. It’s sharp and consistantly funny. I hate everything (except for King of the Hill)and love this show
Community ROCKS! It is constantly hilarious and my favorite show! McHale is great, as is the whole cast.
