This was funny? Really? Hell, Funny Or Die does funnier stuff than this and watching that crap should be included in the Geneva convention as cruel and inhuman punishment.
I guess it just goes to show that in Hollywood (or NY in this case), if you have a decent credit or a good friend who’s a movie/TV star, some people will believe that everything you do is funny…yes, I’m talking to you Adam McKay.

And also, the smoke-monster spinoff joke has been made countless times on the web at this point. Lost jokes are already as old as the news that the show has ended.

Man, you guys are brutal. They’re head WRITERS, and probably just did this as a way to kill some time. I didn’t see where it said they were producers, directors or even Photoshop enthusiasts. Give them a break. I’ll admit it was pretty weak, but this wasn’t aired on Letterman’s show, so why be haters?

I’m not trying to be mean. If an unemployed friend of a friend on Facebook posted that and said he made it on his Mac at home… I would still not think it was funny.
But two head writers on Letterman made that??? That is almost inconceivable. I read 100 comments from random schlubs on the internet that make better Lost jokes.
Have these guys ever met a network executive? Or did they just go from college and get in w Letterman? In order to satirize something, know thy subject. The funniest thing was that these guys are so clueless, that they actually gave themselves credit — CREDIT — on a one minute “short.”

I’m not impressed with any of these talk show hosts (though letterman, conan, and ferguson at least have some good moments). They writing is generally atrocious on these shows, and they aren’t that funny nor engaging. And I’m an idiot.
If this pathetic video is the best that two of Letterman’s head writers can produce, I finally realize why Letterman hasn’t been funny for 10 years.

I think this thing is hilarious. It’s intentionally dumb and that’s what makes it so funny. The shot of Schneider from One Day At A Time made me laugh out loud.
