UPDATE: The other actresses on the short-list have been informed that the female lead will go to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, so unless things fall apart at the negotiating table, she’s the new Transformers 3 gal.
EARLIER: Newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has become the front-runner to replace Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in Transformers 3. Insiders say that Bay is down to a short-list of three actresses, but is focused on the model after she read for the role last Friday. On the short-list with Huntington-Whiteley is Sarah Wright and Brooklyn Decker. Wright has appeared in Surfer, Dude and The House Bunny. Decker is the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue model who got her first big starring role opposite Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the comedy Just Go With It, which might be retitled to Pretend Wife.
Paramount began production May 17 in Los Angeles on Transformers 3, but Bay has another week to make his final decision. The actress won’t begin shooting scenes with Shia for two weeks. Bay wants to launch a fresh face, and that would be the case for all three but especially for Huntington-Whitely, whose only IMDB credits are several appearances in the TV special The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Bay has worked with her on several Victoria’s Secret campaigns, I’m told.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was “she-Joker” in Dark knight.. As was “Megan Fox” a “she-Robot” who could only scream “SYYAAAMMM”… They should have taken her out and casted Isabel Lucas instead of casting Lucas as the alien..
I think the girl from Avatar should play the role. Shes a great actress thumbs up..And shes really pretty..If she played the way she did in avatar she can so pull off the role in transformers.. We need someone who has a certain acting presence about them..no movie can be a great hit if you cant act..i saw that Jennifer’s body movie with Megan and I’m sorry to say but that girl cannot act..I liked the blonde girl more because she at least made the movie decent..Looks aren’t everything..Or maybe the girl who starred in the movie with Megan in Jennifer’s body can replace her..shes pretty and a great actress..

the emotional storyline of part 3 and part 1 and 2 in retrospect will make no sense now that megan fox is out. she was supposed to be the love of his life and now she’s replaced. i sense a disaster of speed 2 proportions coming.

Emotional storyline? It’s Transformers, where the closest thing to emotion is showing cleavage and upskirt shots.
Keanu Reeves was the lead in Speed. The leads in the Transformers franchise are the CGI trucks with Shia LaBeouf tying things up. The lead actress is just eye candy. You won’t notice that the brand of sugar has changed.

Sarah Wright is the only suitable one that might match Shia LaBeouf and play a character (Carly?) that looks good with Sam Witwicky .. in fact she looks like Isabel Lucas (the Pretender on Transformers2).
BUT Michael Bay has screwed it up completely anyway. Getting rid of Mikaela Banes it’s just insane, plot and characters continuity are going to be completely lost.
And it’s not that you can add any top model on the movie and think that it won’t matter to horny male teenagers.. it doesn’t work that way. Megan Fox got known after Transformers more than ever and that helped Transformers2 boxoffice gross a lot among teenagers.
Then there is the key role of Mikaela Banes and the soulmates romance with Sam Witwicky… killing Mikaela or making her disappear for whatever reason it’s going to be the most stupid thing ever done to a franchise. And recasting the role to be played by another actress it’s even worse.
Michael Bay is killing the franchise and it’s sad to see that Steven Spielberg doesn’t step in firing Michael Bay before the mess is done and it can’t be fixed anymore. It’s still not too late for Spielberg to take control of the franchise and direct himself with the whole original cast including Megan Fox.

Come on now. “Destroying the franchise?” Yes, teens see a lot of movies. This franchise already has a huge following. This next film promises to be even more ridiculously outlandish and wildly out of scope than the first two installments. That is exactly what his audience demands and if Bay has anything to say about it, that’s precisely what they’re going to get. Fox or no Fox, this film is going to export action and import containers of cash. As for the acting, of course it’s going to be terrible. It’s always terrible. It’s Bay. He sells thrills and high action, sprinkled with somewhat memorable moments and very expensive VFX. Let’s not get too bent out of shape over his choice of Leading Lady. I don’t agree with his methods, and I think all of his films suffer due to his unrelenting dedication to style, but I think people should let it be what it is.
I completely disagree. Lets look at The Dark Knight… Did anyone care that Katie Holmes was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal???? No, because KH was horrible and the movie was amazing. While Transformers will never be close to the quality of TDK, I believe the franchise has enough appeal (and enough people hate Megan Fox) that nobody will care if Megan is replaced.
That being said, I doubt they will keep her character and replace that actress. I can only hope that Mikaela will be killed in the first 2 minutes of T3 and Sam will have a new love interest that is, once again, way too hot for him.

The Dark Knight it’s a very wrong comparison. If it wasn’t for Heath Ledger death it would have flopped because it’s way worse than Batman Begins and the lack of Katie Holmes people would have noticed, the replacement actress was so anonymous.
What Michael Bay did here is like if George Lucas fired Natalie Portman on Star Wars III or if Keira Knightley got fired from the third movie of Pirates Of The Carribean or any of the two were replaced with anyone else playing the same role, whatever kind of replacement would have caused the trilogy to sink and the third movie to look dumb and wrong plot and characters wise.
That is what is going to happen to Transformers3 now.
Expect a lot more than $100million boxoffice loss for Transformers3 over Transformers2 just because Megan Fox won’t be in it and then with all the messed up re-written and rushed script that Michael Bay ordered to get rid of Megan Fox and her character Mikaela Banes characters and plot continuity will be broken down to the core.

Thats because they would be too busy drooling over he gorgeous tatas and pretty face to say squat. I would bet every guy in here would beg, borrow, or steal to sleep with her. She is beautiful, and sexy. Who cares about acting?? Its a frickin movie based on a CARTOON! And I think she played the sexy bombshell perfectly in Tranformers, AND Jennifers Body. Those were both great movies IMO.
