I hear MTV has officially ordered Teen Wolf to series. The pickup deal, held up by sorting out details with rights holder MGM, has now closed. The order is believed to be for 12 episodes. The reinvention of the 1985 movie starring Michael J. Fox has been a hot project at MTV, which ordered a pilot presentation in the summer. It revolves around Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a dorky high-school student who gets a rush of new powers, including the ability to attract girls, after a wolf attack. Criminal Minds creator Jeff Davis wrote Teen Wolf for MTV and is executive producing the series with Rene Echevarria, Marty Adelstein and Michael Thorn. Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed and Dylan O’Brien co-star on the show, which had already been staffing. This is MTV’s third series pickup in the past 3 weeks. The cable network also ordered scripted pilot Skins to series, and also picked up animated comedy series Good Vibes.

This has to be a joke.
to bad hair isn’t in
If it’s half as good as Criminal Minds (especially the first season), it should be great.
When was the last time MTV had a good animated series? Is it because they’re so cheap?
How are they cheap? I hear this a lot.
MTV aired Clone High, one of the best animated series of all time.
No joke, Ethan, and with Rene Echeveria in the mix, expect the same sense of invention and attention to character that he’s brought to all his past great work. This is going to be a fun show.
Anyone involved with this is guilty of the slow, calculated murder of originality.
Oh lord. Spare us.
Is it already April 1st again?? Does it take place in Jersey? Seriously, MTV needs to go away.
this could be somewhat decent as long as they remember to keep it a metaphor for puberty
but…this is mtv
so it will most likely be prepubescent humor and no actual substance
I thought MTV stood for Music Television.
Are you joking misterburns? MTV hasn’t been Music Television since I was little. This is actually an interesting concept for a series though. I remember seeing Teen Wolf years back. If they do it right, this might make for an interesting series.
The M in MTV does not stand for Music. Nor does it stand for Money. They are cheap bastards.
What’s next, the TV adaptation of Dave Chapelle’s Half Baked or a movie about The Price is Right:The story of Bob Barker?
yea, back in the day MTV did stand for MUSIC TELEVISION. if i wanted to watch SOAP OPERAS id watch NBC, CBS OR ABC. besides, nothing can ever replace the awesomeness of the ORIGINAL TEEN WOLF! MTV making a series out of the movie is only gonna ruin it!
Instead of asking when was the last time MTV had a good animated show on, how about asking when the hell was the last time MTV played music. I mean come on the name of the station is MUSIC TV. Instead of playing all these shows why don’t they try playing some videos for once.
If MJ Fox were dead, he’d be rolling in his grave.
Now that music is officially dead with hackery and American Idol burnouts, MTV has to reinvent itself.
What they need is a breakthrough series like The Shield or Mad Men but for the younger set. Ten Wolf? I think not.
Keep looking fellas. The show is out there.
I know someone who saw this pilot and says its fantastic…this could actually be a hit for MTV. I’d be interested in checking it out because of Jeff Davis’ writing & the cast is suppose to be amazing. All fresh new faces & very talented…thank god for that!! I hear its not at all like the original so I wonder why they even bothered calling it Teen Wolf at all.
Ok. I enjoyed the movie Teen Wolf with Michael J. Fox and the sequel with Jason Bateman was not so bad either. If you are a true fan, you may recall there was a Teen Wolf cartoon back in the late 80′s on Saturday mornings on CBS which was also ok. Now, Tyler Posey, I think he will be a good fit for the show and you may recognize him from the ex-ION series, DOC, which starred the sexy Billy Ray Cyrus. Also, Tyler’s co-star is Tyler Hoechlin, who co-starred on the ex-WB/CW series, 7th Heaven. I think these Tyler boys/men will do very well and wish them luck and success on this series. If no one else will watch this new, upcoming series, I’ll be watching!
Bring back the Maxx!

This won’t be a real depiction of the movie (or the old series) Teen Wolf, because Scott wasn’t attacked by a werewolf. It was genetically in his family’s DNA, and it was generational. To do a new series where the main character is bitten or scratched isn’t follwing in the footsteps of the original plot, and really can’t compare. They should call this new series something else. I’ll check it out when it airs though to see how they do it.
Guys it looks awsome promote it print pictures of it and posters and put them on walls and cars in parking lots anything to promote it.
Eat your words, people of 2010! Five episodes into this show, I think Teen Wolf has proven itself to be a worthy television series in the spirit of the movie. Sure, it’s not like an award-calibre television series, but it’s still an enjoyable (guilty pleasure) program.
he is cute
