UPDATE: The 3 top ABC comedy pilots at the moment, Mr. Sunshine, Untitled Couples and Happy Endings are all meeting with writers. Marc Guggenheim, who served as an executive producer on the pilot for No Ordinary Family, will stay on in consulting capacity as he is busy with feature projects.
PREVIOUS: No Ordinary Family, The Greg Berlanti-produced drama about a family of superheroes has been picked up to series, ABC’s first new series order this season. The pilot starring Michael Chiklis had already been staffing. Berlanti wrote No Ordinary Family with Jon Feldman. The two are executive producing the ABC Studios drama with Morgan Wandell and the pilot’s director David Semel. The cast of the show also includes Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Romany Malco, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker and Christina Chang. Also meeting with potential writers is another ABC drama pilot Generation Y, and the Shonda Rhimes-produced Off The Map is making “if come” deals with writers.

YES – Chiklis needs to be back on TV and he’s so much fun in this role. Great special effects and family heart will elevate this to break out hit
yay! congratulations to everyone involved.
Any word on Matadors or True Blue? I thought they were strong scripts.
I believe Marc Guggenheim is a producer too, and possibly showrunner
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this pilot. Chiklis is amazing, Benz is hot, and the whole thing is fun family entertainment.
Incredible! Or should I say, The Incredibles!
(This joke works with “Fantastic!” and “The Fantastic Four” too, as Kirby and Lee’s creation is the inspiration for The Incredibles.)
He deserves another show…. ever since he left Flashforward it has SUCKED S&*T.
True Blue ain’t going, so I hear Feldman will be running this one. Guggenheim will hopefully be kept far away.
True Blue is still in the mix and are meeting with writers.
What’s up with Generation Y? All I know is that it’s from The Unusuals creator…
Is 187 Detroit going?
Happy for Romany Malco. Hopefully, being on a network series will give him some more recognition from TPTB.
Um, can we discuss who in the world ABC is programming for???Generation Y and No Ordinary Family? Wow, Is Dawn Ostroff programming two networks now? All that’s missing is a Vampire show. Let me guess, 187 Detroit is their new cop show–a “docu-comedy.” Could this be softer? Who is going to be watching this. Seems like Steve is trying to catch NBC at the bottom.
Hopefully No Ordinary Family will keep Guggenheim too busy to keep ruining the Spider-Man comics.
If SMcP keeps trying to chase the LOST crowd…he’ll be the one needing a liferaft. Matadors is a better choice for the network of GA and Castle.
Dear sickntired: 187 Detroit is a great great script. Funny and also genuinely tragic. Have you actually read it?
First It’s the Commish then Vic Mackey on the shield which where both Cops and now in this he plays a police sketch artist with The THing’s strenth I’m Tellin ya it’s all the luck in the world for Michael Chiklis in this one , I just Love him. I hope he’s great on the show like he always is on any show that he sinks his teeth into . He’s a Great , and believeable Actor in my opinion .
