UPDATED: After solid ratings gains this week (14% in the adults 18-49 demo), V is being renewed for next season. Lizards rule!
According to multiple sources, struggling freshman FlashForward, which went through several showrunner changes, has been cancelled. Prospects for veteran Scrubs also look grim, but a rep for ABC said the network has not made any cancellation decisions yet.

They do not rule.
They are of peace always.
And we, sadly for us, are delicious…..
Gee I wonder if the bump in ratings had anything to do with V being after one of the final episodes of Lost… (by the way it only retained 57% of it’s lead in)… What were they thinking?!?
This is great news. Though maybe not emmy worthy this has been a fun exciting fast paced show that has found its footing.
Grim tidings for Flash Forward? Say it ain’t so…
That series was supposed to change everything.
Flash Forward changed my viewing habit… To not watching it.
HOPING ABC BUILDS A COMEDY LINEUP WITH MR SUNSHINE AT 9PM TO CHALLENGE NBC ON THURSDAYS… WITH GREY’S AT 10PM.
COULD BE THE ANGLE THEY NEED TO BUILD AN AUDIENCE.
THIS WILL BE THE RETURN OF THE COMEDY SEASON!

V is a pretty good show, and glad to hear it was renewed.
A sad day for good writing and good acting. Get this piece of s*** off the air.
You have a point about the writing, but Morena Baccarin, Elizabeth Mitchell and Laura Vandervoort are three great actresses. Mitchell is as good in V as she is in Lost.
Elizabeth Mitchell plays the same person on every show and it is average at best.
Morena Baccarin is good in this role and shows she does have acting range.
Laura Vandervoort as she proved on Instant Star and Smallville is a waste of space. She gets hired on looks and hair.
This shows storyline is going no where fast. It is trying to be mysterious instead of action orientated, like the original.
The writing has been on the wall for FlashForward for a long time (you just can’t lose two showrunners in season, especially when one is a creator). Hopefully they can tie it up nicely and it’ll forever be regarded as a good story that was told in a single season.
I dunno… it looks like you will need a lot of string to tie it all up in just one more episode.

With moves like this next season ABC will be in sad shape.
Guess we now know how bad ABCs pilot are. This show has been dreadful.
I wanted to like FlashForward, great one-line concept, Lost-like, great title, GREAT lead actor for a television series (we’ve missed that dude, he’s so much better for television then film anyway they should quickly lock him up if they haven’t already). Sadly, it was a poor execution of a great concept, the rest of the cast really weren’t that great or didn’t “gel”, the production value looked “cheap” at times, I think savvy viewers can recognize downtown Los Angeles doubling for other cities, etc. It just wasn’t endearing in the slightest. The lead character, do we root for him – or not? Lead couple, do we root for them – or not. I felt like with FlashForward there just wasn’t anything to grab on to. And I SO wanted to like this series – I hung in there, I really did. But hot damn if I wasn’t wanting my hour back after many episodes. Note to ABC: it’s 2010 removing a new series to re-tool a bit longer is going to lose you viewers. FlashForward is back on the air– what? It is? Someone try a similar concept again – please – it can work.
V is AWFUL. I cannot believe it survived for another season. There are 4 people in the resistance, and all they do is talk (BORING). I haven’t seen a single lizard, lasergun, or hamster-eating at all. This show is a complete misfire on a creative level and a cocktease of ludicrous proportions on a genre level. ABC please reconsider and CANCEL this piece of crap! The original miniseries was a THOUSAND times better than this!!!
Agree with Porkinz. V is unwatchable.
Very sad, thought this should be the other way around. WHile Flashforward hasn’t been as good as when it started V is by far a worse show.
When I realized I was just waiting for the lead guy to get drunk already and for his wife to just go ahead and sleep with the other guy already and for someone to go ahead and just shoot the lead guys partner already I knew I really couldn’t stand the show anymore. I won’t grieve for this one.
As for V I have no opinion. I quit watching V back when they all had poofy hair and shoulder pads.
We like V. Anna is the Mommie Dearest from Hell. Just get the police department off of the tv. 4 people come on. They had more resistance in WW2
V will be just fine. It’s geting better every episode. All they need to do now is bring back the guy who plays Georgie. ABC and WB killed one of the only great actors on the show.
I think picking up V comes down to two things.
One-ABC’s pilot season must not have been that good.
Two-DVD $ for Warner Bros (the studio). They shot a very short season and wouldn’t be able to recoup the money spent. They probably made some financial concessions and are going to shoot the show on a shoestring budget.
Either way outside of Modern Family I’m not watching ABC next season.
The best part of Flashforward is hearing how well Joe Fiennes can whisper, while trying to sound American. Please, network execs, for the love of God, find American actors who sound American. (Nothing against Fiennes, he’s solid playing British).
When Flashforward dragged out that storytelling chestnut, the evil Nazi scientist, in EPISODE THREE, I saw the future of the show. It was over.
Most of these comments are so stupid. Flah Forward had to wait until NOW to know whether they had another year. How does one produce a show when you have no idea if you need to push things along or maybe keep the mysteries flowing? It’s not just ABC. I loved Flash Forward and I like V but when the “execs” take shows off the air for 8 weeks and expect them to refind their audience, well, they have another thought coming. It happened to LOST in season three when they went from 6 episodes in oct/nov to making us wait until february. Millions stopped watching then.
They’re still wondering whether to bring back Scrubs? Talk about jumping the shark on that one. Let sleeping dogs lie. I would like to pretend that season 8 was the last one and they went out classy like Seinfeld.
The only way to get me to watch more episodes of this V dreck is for Anna the Visitor and Juliette from Lost to make out every episode. That show looks like a boring cut scene from a video game you remember liking when you were younger.
Both shows should get the boot. They’re not out and out garbage, but they’re not captivating or moving television. Not work the hour it takes to watch.
boo!
i was hoping for a second season of FF. a good show runner – with network pressure – could get a solid writers room to recapture the imagination of the first few eps.
now i’m hoping they give us a decent conclusion.
FlashForward’s multiple story lines were just way too complicated to follow. If they had just stuck with 3 or maybe 4 plot lines, instead of 500, the show might have worked. The best part of the show was the young doctor with cancer – they should’ve stuck more with that story.
V is an imcredible show and I’m hoping to see more seasons to come from it though it would be difficult because the show seems to be wrapping up with this “war” approuching and her eggs hatching or something. Anyway good move on canceling flash forward and picking up V for a second season. I also believe that abc will start to thrive with it’s viewers due to the premiere of the pretty little liars show this summer which is based on the hit series. Good luck abc!
