It’s Mike & Molly from Chuck Lorre, who already has the top-rated Two And A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory on CBS. The early pickup for Mike & Molly, written by Mark Roberts and directed by James Burrows, is extremely rare for CBS, which traditionally orders its new series on the Monday of upfront week. The series stars Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy as an overweight couple. Reno Wilson and Katy Mixon co-star.

At this point CBS will do whatever Chuck Lorre wants, and rightfully so. Everything else they have in comedy is terrible.

Didn’t see M&M but read it. Charming, Bland, Safe. Roseanne without teeth. The Brady Bunch without kids.

As long as Leslie is at CBS – you’ll get radio silence for the most part. Though – it’s not as razor sharp as it used to be.
Is there any news on The Odds. I was looking forward to seeing Donald Faison as a cop.
James Burrows can direct as many pilots as he wants. That won’t change the possibility of any or none of them getting picked up. So Open Books and Shat My Dad Says can still be picked up.
A pilot director is often different from the series director or directors. For example James Burrows did the pilot of Two and 1/2 Men, but not the series.
Wow. I have never read so much bad information. Mike and Molly will be a great show. It is not at all what you think it is.

Everyone has such a misconception about Melissa McCarthy.
If you knew her in person you’d realize what a mean spirited
self centered person she really is. She started getting acting roles and dumped
friends and family alike.
People have such a warped sense of who celebrities really are.
They’re just reading someone elses words.
Most all of the one’s that I know in LA are
NOTHING like their true personality.
Don’t be fooled.
What goes around comes around eventually.
How can this show miss with Billy Gardel in it? He’s fantastic and I’m betting it will be a huge success.
