Mitch Hurwitz and Will Arnett’s Wilde Kingdom has been picked up to series. The show is now being called Running Wilde. The comedy, which also stars Keri Russell, is being produced by Tantamount and Principato-Young Entertainment and Lionsgate. Hurwitz and Arnett co-wrote the pilot with Jim Vallely. The three are executive producing with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Peter Principato and Paul Young. It stars Arnett as a rich Beverly Hills jackass who falls in love with a charitable tree-hugging woman (Russell).

So, what does this do to the status of “Most Likely To Succeed”?…
Now, the $1,000 question: will it be more Arrested Development or Sit Down, Shut Up?
Actually, if you got past the first four episodes of Sit Down, Shut Up, it was great
There was one good episode, “Taming of the Dude”, and a few tolerable ones in the second batch, and the talking kitty inside Ennis’ head was a great idea, but the fact was that the show was plagued by lame material. You had to wonder whether if it was done on purpose (like a criticism of TV shows clichés) or if it was just convoluted writing but in the end you didn’t care.
Glad to see that “Running Wilde” will have a different tone.
I don’t expect it to be anything like Arrested Development… I have a feeling (a little birdie told me) that it’s going to be a whole lot more ridiculous
This sounds amazing. Comedy lives! Can’t wait to see this show from such a great team with a great comedy pedigree. I am filled with hope
Dwigt:
It’s in the vein of Arrested, with more class and higher production value.
Production value is not a substitute for GOOD. “Arrested” was a break-thru comedy, that only FOX could’ve fumbled (like Family Guy, and Firefly). Unfortunately, FOX will not need help in watching it’s latest Hurwitz ship sink. Love Hurwitz. Love Arnet. Russel is a cutey. But “Wilde” is pure unwatchable garbage. 6 eps. Tops. Then cancelled. And that’s only because Murdoch put too many of his eggs in this piss-poor comedy basket to back out earlier than that. “Traffic Light” is gonna be great. So is “Most Likely” — oh wait, that’s right, they went with “Wilde”.
I COMPLETELY disagree that the show is crap. It’s awesome, but it is very different than what we’re used to in the states. And, as usual, I’m sure that will mean that people don’t watch it. So yeah, probably will be cancelled after a short time. Sad.
does anyone know who has the distribution rights? is if 20th. Fox?
