Popular radio and TV host Art Linkletter died today in Bel Air at age 97. Canadian-born Linkletter was best known for hosting two long-running TV shows, CBS’ House Party and NBC’s People Are Funny. “Throughout Art’s 60 years in show business, he remained one of the most respected and beloved media personalities in America,” Disney president and CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.

Is he officially dead? This guy died like 5 times already…regardless, rest in peace brother…you made a lot of smiles
Good bye old friend
At least his coffin is designed by Crafmatic. Now that’s comfort! (Something tells me Letterman is going to make a joke like this…)
Art made Kids Say The Darndest Things.
And generations of first radio listeners, then TV viewers, agreed……..while laughing their heads off.
Art, you were right. At your “House Party”, you proved that “People Are Funny”.
Thanks, Art.
What a delightful gentleman. I hope he enjoyed as much happiness in life as he added to ours!
I am sure the Gates of Heaven welcomed him with open arms.
Would that all of us could leave such a wonderful legacy as he and be impacted by laughter, great entertainment and personal appeal.
I hope I meet up with him (God willing) in the afterlife and get acquainted with him and his lovely wife. What a blessing that would be.
We will miss him. He is one of a kind, as is Elvis, Jack Benny, Lucy, and innumerable people who gave us such joy in our mundane lives.
Art was beloved by families from Bel Aire (where he died) to Maine.
