The director has been forced to bow out of attending Wednesday night’s Out of Competition premiere because of knee replacement surgery. His recovery has been slower than he’d hoped. “Truly, doctor’s orders are the only thing that could keep me from being there,” he said in a statement issued through Universal, Robin Hood‘s distributor. Stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett and producer Brian Grazer will still be getting papped from the red carpet though.

boo fucking hoo
four days away from its release and the director is bailing on the premiere and reviews are (shall we say), limited. i’d be curious to know what the tracking numbers are and what sort of political rumblings are going on inside the universal offices — after all, this was a linde/shmuger project and fogelson/langley don’t have a whole lot of reason to support it other than the relationship with ron howard and brian grazer. just kind of smells fishy.
get well soon Ridley.
I think everyone will be skipping this opening weekend due to the lackluster response the new trailer got before Iron Man at the Arclight this weekend.
First flop of the summer? Next will be the tanking of KILLERS.
Hey all,
How about waiting until the pic opens and then deliver the eulogy? I’m so tired of all the premature DOA’s – give the film a chance, why don’t you. Let the audiences decide before you render it a flop.
